"The clan has been so very nice to me!" Silver announced, and couldn't help continuing: "Eaglestar has decided that I can train to become a warrior, and protect the clan. I'm sure I'll start my lessons within the next moon phase. How about you? What brings you so close to Wingclan? Are you going to join?"

Silver peered with concern at the old white hen. "There may come a time when you need Wingclan's protection. The forest has been . . . revealing many enemies these past few moons." She shuddered. "Though I daresay you've survived worse. I just don't want Hackleclan or Shadowclan to . . . to . . . ," she broke off.

The small fuzzy creatures scattered in the nearby forest silently, taking to different directions and watching.
