The sunshine flipped and danced through the trees, dappling the forest floor with a twirling arc of light. Among the fallen leaves, spotted with the overhead sunlight, Silvermist jogged through the undergrowth. Her yellow eyes were wide as she took in the sights and sounds of the afternoon. A smile came to her beak as she saw a few young starlings hop about on a tree overhead, giggling happily. Border patrol was never boring.
