Name: Piper
Age: 2 years
Breed: Golden 300 Hybrid Layer X Jumbo Pekin
Gender: Female
Piper is special to me because she is the only baby from my Jumbo Pekin drake, Aflac. Aflac was the sweetest boy, but he unfortunately had to be put to sleep when he was only a year old. I am now very attached to Piper because she's the only piece I have left of him. Piper is sweet and will take treats from my hand, but is a little shy and will keep her distance if I don't have any food for her. She is very talkative.

Name: Aphrodite
Age: 4 months
Breed: Black Swedish/ Indian Runner X Buff Orpington
Gender: Female
I hatched a total of 19 ducklings this year wanting some more girls for my flock. At least 15 of them are drakes, 2 are too young to tell, and only 2 are for sure female. Aphrodite is one of the females. I just think she is so funny and adorable. She has so much energy and zooms all over the place. She is very flirtatious with all the drakes. I could honestly sit and watch her all day.

Daphne
Rouen white creasted mix
Born Oct 25 2018
Female
Pictue is Pippi and Daphne. Pippi gets to snuggle with her friend instead of a fake egg. Lol we gave her a egg and she spent her time carring for it because she though it was Daphne. Daphne on day 29 of incubation and there was no signs of life, 7 days before my husband accidently unplug the incubator. For that point i have seen no signs of life. No movements, failed float test. I Put a air hole in just in case. Then day 28 i put a bigger hole so i can see if movement inside. Nothing. The veins we mostly gone and when candling it was just a big black mass. I told my daughter that is dead, so on day 29 my daughter asked if we could open to see what color it would be. So i opened the air sack touched the membranes no movement. I played with it for over 30 minutes nothing. So i opened the membranes which was no bleeding and was looking for its head. Pulled its head out that was straight down in the middle the beak was pointed down to the fat end. When i got her head out she was looking at me. Yikes. Then she started breathing and within 30 min she was chipping. I left her in the egg because i though for sure i killed her by doing and what about the yolk. She did well all day i was getting ready for work and the kids go home and went to look at her and she was out of the shell. I still cant belive she is alive.....i had been calling around looking for a duckling for pippi glaf i didnt find one.
Pippi talking and waiting for her sister.
She is a rouen white crested mix.
Born Oct 23 2018
Female
She is special to because she is My first duck i have hatched. Her mom is a white creasted that is very special to. She was the only one out of the recuse ducks that bonded close to me. My male is not crazy about she so for the babys to be hatched and to be hers i am over the moon. I did have people waiting to buy them but there is no way i can give up dasiy's baby. I have her in a clear plastic container and when i leave the room she calls for me. I am over the moon in love with her. She is very spirited and has so much personality.

Ducks must be 2 months or older

How do I decide? Huey, Dewey and Louie all came to me at the same time (2 days old). They were bonded to each other immediately - I can’t even get them separate apart enough to take individual pictures!

I’ll give it the old college try:

Name: Huey
Breed: Rouen
Age: 2 months today
Gender: Female by quack, male by color and behavior
What makes my duck special to me: Huey is my protector duck. Huey stands up to the dog and is often the one to stand straight to watch while the other two eat. However, Huey also has a playful/competitive side. After watching my Border Collie play fetch and catch with a frisbee, Huey kept picking up this stick as if to say, “Hey - I can do that, too!”. (Close up on the front duck and you’ll see the stick - ok, twig).

Next:
Name: Dewey
Breed: Rouen
Age: 2 months today
Gender: Female by quack and behavior
What makes my duck special to me: Dewey tends to push the other ducks into doing things first. “Here, why don’t you test the swimming water first, Louie?”. And, “Try that grain over there and let us know what you think, Huey.” And my favorite, “Alright you two, put your backs into it and we’ll get this trench dug!” In this picture Dewey is on the left supervising the other ducks:

And, finally:
Name: Louie
Breed: Rouen
Age: 2 months today
Gender: Female by quack
What makes my duck special to me: Even though Louie is the smallest of the 3 ducks, Louie is the most adventurous! Louie is always first to check out new food sources and possible swimming spots - “Hmmm... that pan has an inch of water in it. I bet I can dive in under my wings...” Louie is also a poser: in the first picture above, Louie is the one “cheesing” at the camera. And when they each stretched to pose for a final shot, Louie came up with this one front and center:

Seriously, they all took turns stretching while I clicked and Louie’s was the biggest, longest pose.

Thanks for letting me boast! It is extremely difficult to choose my favorite from the three, but I guess if I’m hard pressed - I saved the best for last.

They are adorable!
I'm sorry, but it's only 2 entries per person. (2 of your duckies can be entered) If you would like me to choose I can. I know I wouldn't be able to choose between mine. :hit
