Winter chick raising

Hi all I am new here. I am wanting to get some chicks for my birthday. Here in Pa it is below freezing. A local place sells a starter kit that has a brooder box, food heat lamp chicks. I want chicks bad. My ? S how long would I have to keep them in my house before putting them outside beings it's winter?

I would not put them out before 12 weeks (or fully feathered) and you would have to slowly aclimate them by lowering the brooder temp to outside temps.
