Hi All.

Lots of people ask me about keeping the girls through the winter here in New England... Just be sure you have breeds that are hardy enough for your climate... I also use a deep litter method of pine/oak shavings which makes it so easy to keep things clean and dry... I have never had a problem even with weeks of temps in the single digits. Enjoy!

Lucky you. We live in South Eastern Virginia. We got snow this year (Like an inch) and our birds acted like it was going to kill them if they touched it. The Roos flew to the top of the fence and would not come down. The hens would try to jump from non snow covered spot to spot.
