Winter Gardens/ Greenhouse!

Pics
I grow a hardy banana mostly for ornamental purposes. Years the main stalk does not freeze to the ground it will bloom in summer. It will form bananas but seldom do they completely mature.
Still I love the form and tropical look. I've receive many nice comments. It makes lots of babies. I have given many away over the years.

I am in zone 8a. I never would have considered Iceland banana habitat. That is surprising!
I got a dwarf banana to go in my new greenhouse when it's ready. Someone told me that bananas don't ripen on the plant. You have to take them off and put them in a paper bag with a fruit that produces ethylene, like an already ripe banana or apple.

They will ripen on the plant if your season is long enough.

The technique you mention is used by those with a shorter season. It still needs full size bunches to work.
Commercial bananas are often picked green to ship to stores. They ripen on the shelf.

Today I just walked out there and looked. Sigh.
Carrots, Garlic are green and coming along.
Onions are growing! Thanks @Sally PB !

I need to start going through my seed box.
You're welcome!

I need to get my seed orders together. I want to try new tomatoes, I need to get some kale, spinach, and yes! chard seeds.

I tried chard sauted with some onion and garlic, and I love it! :wee
