Winter Solstice

I've been getting 6-7 a day out of 10!!! Made scrambled eggs yesterday and had a double yolker! So proud of my girls! Yayyyy!

Then there's hope for mine! One girl started laying a week ago, and several more have started squatting. Fingers crossed!

Oh I'm sure they'll start laying again! How are your temps where you are?

Been pretty scarce out of my ten hens from the end of oct til just a few weeks ago...production is coming back, slowly and not as consistent as I would like, but five of those girls are 3 years old and I know two aren't laying anymore.. Got 10 young poults that should start laying sometime the end of March/April and 23 eggs in the bator set to hatch the end of this month...getting a jump start on next winter as I do not want to ever have to buy eggs again!

Temps have hovered in the low 40's

Yea it's been mild here too, almost 50 today! So nice when that happens in winter!! Oh that's fun with hatching your own chicks! I want to eventually try that too!
