Winter watering solution?

Has anyone used one of those "heated 3 gallon plastic heated poultry fountains"? Randall Burkey seems to have the best price.

Since I don't have outside electricity, I've been one of those people who have tried to replace the water a couple of times a day. I like the idea of using the black bowls and will pick one up the next time I'm at the feed store!

They are called electric heat wraps, they come in 3'-5'-10-15-20-30' lenghts.

I went to one place and they didn't have the black rubber bowls. Then I went online and I couldn't find any? Does anyone have any links?

Tractor Supply usually has them, and Jeffers online catalog should have them but you have to look in the section dealing with feeders for large livestock...won't be in the chicken supplies.

if you are looking for a black rubber/plastic pan try an auto parts store (used for changing oil)

a planter base might also serve the same pupose
