This is my first winter with chickens and I have 9 (soon to be more) Seramas and I was wondering how they do durring the winter (I remember reading that they dont do well) and besides heat lamps, what else could I use to keep them from getting cold? I have access to alot hay an straw and in the coming week or so my Serama coop is being built (4 separate coops an runs) so I cant run a heat lamp to every single bird.. and advice please?

I only have one serama in my bantam flock but she wintered with a roo this past winter with a heat lamp inside my coop. They are not know for being cold hardy so a solid insulated coop is a must.

I don't have serama's, but I have silkies and a teeny silkie/ oegb cross. They all did fine last winter, no extra heat and an uninsulated coop. They were only about 7-8 weeks when I put them outside, in december. I just made sure there was a thick pile of bedding, and no drafts.
