Is there anything I should know about wintering call ducks? Last year I had two call duck crosses and a pekin, I left them out in the pond until a layer of ice came. Then I put them in the chicken coop for the winter, where they did quite well.
I have plugged a heat lamp into their summer duck house (which they dont seem to use!) But its only been two days and I keep moving their food farther and farther into the pen where the lamp is. Maybe they will figure it out!
This year I have 7 purebred grey call ducks and want to make sure that if I do the same this year that they will be ok. Is it ok to leave them out until the pond ices up?
