Winterizing coop and run

I use tarps with grommets I have used zip ties in the past to attach but am looking into bungee balls this winter I saw on Amazon they are reusable where zip ties are one and done
I have the ball bungees from Amzn, used last winter. I like better than zip ties bc I can easily reposition a tarp, Buy more than you think you need, as they stretch out and/or break often.

I winterize the run partially for my own comfort while I’m out there, and for when my kids spend time in the winter months with the flock. I don’t bother trying to keep out ALL the snow (here it rarely stays around more than a few days), but I make sure both the chickens and myself/kids at least have a dry area that’s out of the wind.

We wrap our run and leave about 9-12 inches open at the top along 3 walls. We use a heated dog bowl in the run for water. We might get a dusting of snow if the wind is just right. It stays cold in there but with no wind the chickens come out every day. It gets toasty and nice when the sun is out and they can continue dust bathing. We just started wrapping this weekend. We did just the south side.
