Could someone look at my pictures of my coop and suggest ways to make it warmer? It has
6 roosts inside, the floor has 3 bars going across to roost on also. I't's not big enough to insulate the inside. Thanks, Lana

What are you using for the bedding?

pine chips with newspaper underneath

There is a door on the otherside of the coop that right now I close at night, but leave the front door and window open. They were sleeping inside the coop at night, but now 5 of them are roosting on the top of the coop.

What are your average winter temps? How much snow on average?

usually 0 to 30. About 2-4 inches of snow.

I have 10 feet on the other end of the pen that I was thinking of enclosing, but I don't know if I need to do that.

We've decided to use a 10 x 10 building we have on the property to make a coop out of and use this one for more chicks in the spring.

well, plans changed again. We are building a 8 X 8 coop out of plywood and making everything ourselves.
