Winterizing Run

I've been missing some of these comments. Still haven't done anything yet and the next couple of days are suppose to be cooler and rainy. Really would like to do something with the roof to let light in too as the chickens are on the north side of the building so the sun gets blocked. Works ok in the summer but not so well when it starts getting cold. This is an Omlet run 9 ft. x 9 ft. with a tent like roof from Tractor Supply. The tarps I used last year were just held on by small bungee cords.

Chickenthyme:Would be nice to know where you are located? We do not have a big problem with freezing temps, yes we get some, but wind, rain, and a little snow is what we try and keep out of our run. I have been using clear shower curtains as they are cheap. I add some duct tape for reinforcement in the corners and then grommets. We only cover 2 sides of the run as the prevailing wind comes from those directions driving the rain. The need to be able to see thru the plastic is a non issue for us.

I am in NE Ohio and we can have pretty good snows at times. Just depends on the winters.
