Is it ok to have a coop with a wire floor? My grandfather bought me one but, I'm not sure if I should put a wood panel over it. [IMG]
It's pretty convenient since it has a poop collecting tray underneath but, I'm worried about my chickens poor feet.
They don't seem to mind. Should I just not worry about it?

For quail your suppose to have wire floor becouse they can get disease easily. If quail can go on it then chickens can just put some wood in there so they can rest there feet when they want.

I have a wire floor and my girls have completely covered it with dirt and hay. The chickens don't mind it or get hurt on it at all.
