Wire on the bottom of coop.

Some of the coops I have been looking at have wire on the bottom of the coop. When I was making mine all the things I read said that wire will cause problems with their (chickens) feet. I like the idea of wire but do not want to ruin their feet and ask for more troubles. It sure would help with clean up.

I don't think it would cause a problem IF you dug down and covered the wire with a foot of dirt. Chickens scratch and will dig a hole so the dirt will have to be fairly deep

I agree it would be easier to clean!!!

I was also thinking about that also: maybe a partial wire floor (under the roost part then maybe tack a tarp under the wire in winter ((like the henspa)))
