I have some wire that I want to use for my run, but I think the holes are too big. It is welded wire (rectangle holes) that are 2x4. Im not worried about predators as much as I am about the birds getting out. Is this small enough to keep them conatined?

It is small enough to keep them contained AND it is large enough for a raccoon to reach in and grab your chickens. It is also large enough to allow snakes and rodents to get in so I personally do not like and and would recommend 1/2 inch hardware cloth.

Yes, I have used 2X 4 wire fencing many times, and it work well
Chickens should be 8-10 weeks old for this size material
You can also over fence it with some chicken wire fence on the bottom until the young birds grow up.

Thanks, Im going to go ahead and use it. Like I said, not too worried about predators, just wanting to keep the chicks in the run. Thanks, again.
