My dogs were out when I got home today. They got out because someone forgot to lock the door before they left... Well anyways, they killed some rabbits and tested some wire on the hutches and run of my coop.
Here is some chicken wire wrapped around some old 2x4 welded wire on the run. The dogs messed up the chicken wire a bit.
Here is another section on the run. I am not sure why they tried so hard here because there is a board behind the wire anyways
They shredded the chicken wire and bent it up, they did not get past the 2x4.
Here is another spot on the run that they tested. Again just easily popping holes in the chicken wire.
Here is an interesting one. The green wire is some cruddy 2x4 wire that is really weak. I can rip it apart with my hands. The other wire is just regular welded 2x4 steel wire from home depot.

So this stuff got destroyed, along with some thin boards.
Here is the same cage as the previous picture. This one is on top. The dog jumped up there and popped the 2x4 off, that was mainly because of my crappy job at nailing. One of the dogs was actually stuck inside of this. It's a chicken tractor btw. I had a buck in there.
And here is hardware cloth vs a dog. This was on another rabbit hutch that was also holding a buck.
So, that old 2x4 on the run held up well. I am not sure what the difference is between that and the newer 2x4 on the hutch other than the stuff on the run is thicker, about 17 years older, and a little rusty.
(just the old wire on the run)
