wiring a thermostat question

I had no luck using a cell phone charger. I ended up using a the big square flashlight battery (6 volt? about 3 inches square...) I used 2 during the 21 day incubation. Hope you have better luck with the cell phone charger than I did. (I was glad the flashlight battery worked & saved the day

Try a different one. One with some weight to it. The heavy ones use an actual transformer, whereas the lightweight ones that come with a lot of cell phones use some sort of solid state converter.​
 
The one I used was for charging a light I think. Ill have to go buy a different on I guess. So when I go 2walmart or somewhere to get one what should it say on the back of trhe charger

Don't buy one. They are so common that I'm sure a family member, neighbor, or somebody has one in a closet with some old junk. Try at work or at school. It should say 12 volt DC on the back. The higher the amperage rating, the better.​

Try goodwill or DAV store(or similar) they usually got bins of chargers for 50cents or so.
