(PS) I do use FireFox as my browser, didnt like it at first but now it has grown on me. Lots more features! I need it for another site whose webmaster should be the poster child for it! A lot of the updates dont work on that site unless you DO use it.

Babylady4, The only 2 eggs not marked are a barred cochin and a Buff silkie, I think that's what it was. I like that idea with the cardboard deviders. Would you be able to make something up like that? Really, it doesn't matter too much, because when they are older, I should be able to tell. Langshans are black. White Orps, white-white. Wheaten Ameraucana, tan and white. Silkie, well that's a given and so is the "barred" cochin. The only ones that I won't know are going to be the EEs.

I'm going to start on the little metal box today, for the button quail. I got lots to do so I better get going on that. Check in later.

Good morning everyone, finally had a few free minutes to start setting up the wafer thermostat in the incubator and adjusting it so that I get it to 99.5*(currently at 93.9*) and once that holds I will be adding Terry O's eggs

Blue (our banty hen) has been sitting on her eggs and from what we can tell has them all covered!

Hello everyone! Welcome Kool Aid Queen! Congrats babylady4!! How exciting! I keep putting off doing the RN program. Always some excuse. Right now is I'm scaried and to busy. Someday hopefully I'll get the courage to go back. Until then I can't complain. Had a insane weekend and now I'm glad it's over. I actually looked forward to going to work today. Sat it was run here and watch this. Basketball tourny and then watch neice in taekwondo meet. Then Girls have friends over and if that wasn't enough one of the goats had kids and rejected them, two died and one made it. Now she's a bottle baby. I love them but they are so much work. Feeding every 4 hours. This all happened on Saturday too. Sunday we all went shopping and went out to eat as a family. Baby also has the poops so she gets a bath on a regular basis too. Oh well such is life I guess. My girlfriend laughed at me and said my life is crazy and she has 6 kids!

Glad to see everyone had a good weekend. Everyone is so busy hatching too. I can't wait for my first time but now I'll have to wait until one baby's out of the house to have more.

My DH is a good man. Take care everyone. Time to feed!

Got my new feeders and waterers for the babies this moring from the "Speedy" guy.

Now the bator and the other eggies. Then I'll be set for a while. Yah right.

ok i have some ?? for all of you who are batoring right now ... here are a few things i have picked up from what you have written tell me if i am wrong in my understanding....

first the eggs you try in your bator should be sat on a few days by your hen(brooder) right???
you are to turn your egg 3 time a day from what i have read .. do you have to use an egg truner or can you do it by hand or is that to risky letting to much heat out??


ok here are a few about the web site .. is there a place where i can change some page set ups like how many responces i see per page and neweast to oldest... i have that option on another site using the same format

also having prob putting avatr on as mine wont shrink enough and where do the pic post when you up load them have done 3 or 4 and can not find then ...

can you tell i an a green horn lol

I can answer the pic questions. With your avatar when you download check the resize box and select which size you want. When you click the uploads in the right corner is My Uploads thats where you pictures are. To get them on a page, copy and paste the IMG one. Make sure you resize it so it will fit on the page. Also you maybe able to change you perfences in the Profile or Recent Posts section. Hope this helps.

Edited: Ok I'm wrong on the avatar. You have to convert the pictures on your computer before you download them. In the index there is a fequently asked questions section that might explain it better. Sorry. I'll play around with it and get back to you.

as for putting eggs under a broody before putting in the incubator, no, if you have eggs under a broody let her have them she will take care of them unless she abandons the nest, as for turning if hand turning 3 times is min. at regular intervals. if you have a turner it depends on the 'bator, some just run slowly (LG or hova-bator) the sportsman moves every 2 hours? if you don't have a turner you hatch will probably not be as good, the mistake that is made is the eggs are jarred/juggled which kills the embryo

Good Evening.... Glad everyone is staying busy! Hope the hatching goes well for everyone.

I have a funeral to attend tommorrow for my son's mother in-law. She was only 55

her funeral is on their wedding anniversary, it would have been 38 years. Just had to share.
She was sick for a long time. Kind of a blessing she doesn't have to suffer any longer.

Nice to see the sunshine today and see the melting!
