Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Our madness starts tomorrow with getting the calves clipped and such and then from there is set up, cloverbud judging, getting the calves to fair, showing, and barn chores and then homeward bound next weekend. No chickens going this year, as we just got chickens in May.

Good Luck, we had fun but exhusted- had to clean several units as well this past week.

Happy warm evening to all. Sounds like everyone is doing well and still new fuzzy butts, those little ones are so hard to resist.

This year was good for all the Fair participants from our Cheeseheads thread. Congratulations to all of you and your families. The gardens sound yummy and BigZ your meal made me hungry. We had our first green beans from the garden and they are soooooooo good. I love fresh from the garden

We had a great weekend. Sat. DH and his son built a deck off the new kitchen patio door ( while I went swimming with the girls ages 1 and almost 3. They are so cute. Then grilled out on the new deck. Then grandson age 5 came over to sleep and we had a great day today. DS 31 and DS 28 also were over to swim and grill out. Sad to see the weekend end. Good night all. Susie

I agree with Susie; Bigz, your dinner sounded so tasty, now I'm hungry too!

These are all my standards: my 5 PRs (Dottie is the whitish one on the left), Moose, my Dom roo, & my 2 BA & 2 BO pullets.

DrH, this is one of my BAs, Ezmerelda. I tried to get a good pic of her feathers, but it wasn't too sunny today.

Oh my beating heart!!!! All it looks like it needs is a roof and a few adaptations!

OK.... lost track of what went on the last couple of days....Too many to read through again.... we've all been there I think.

Somewhere along the line I think someone said they might like to stop in sometime this week. Sorry if I forgot who
hide.gif
Anyway, I remember they wanted directions from Hy 83... I think. Best thing to do is call... anyone that gets down here is welcome. Just call and I'll give you directions. 262-822-6774 Or PM me and I'll give you the addy and you can Google it.

Got most of the fence up. Got to get it done so Ruddy can come on Thur.! Still not sure if I want another dog at this point, but I'm sure he'll grow on me.... they always do! LOL One of the first things we're going to do is teach him to "mark" the fence line! That should help deter beasties thinking about chicken for lunch!

Jasmine has still been taking chicks up on the swing out door window! So far only the Ameraucana chicks can make it up there and the Cochin chicks stay huddled on the floor under her.

They just chirp and chirp for Momma! poor little things. I think their fuzzy little feet glue the to the floor!
gig.gif
She dose come down when I throw some scratch out though!

I've got to learn to take better pictures! Of course it would help if they held still!

Jim.... I know it may be a stretch to remember but.... do you have any idea what that yellow chick w/the black tipped wing feathers might turn into? Sure is going to be a pretty little thing.

Welcome newbies!

Sorry for any losses. That really $ucks!

Night!

Beautiful Morning All! This IS the way it's supposed to be. CC the wheels were turning again last night. Thinking about turning one of the machine shed stalls into a coop. It's not the first time.
hide.gif
Ez sure is purty! Cind those cochin chicks always look deformed to me.

Btwo was nowhere to be found at bedtime last night. Walked around at dusk calling her until I looked like a pomagranite. No feathers no answer. She did a good job of hide and seek she was out there this morning. Lil snot bag!
rant.gif
She's feeling pretty bad this morning after the near scolding she got. Fric is chasing hens this morning and learning he's not the dominate roo.

Would like to get the drywall hung today but there are so many other things that need to be done. Really need to get the hayfield cut. We had our first grn beans too last night

and there's enough cuc's to do pickles AGAIN! I better go. Enjoy the human weather!

My husband wants one instead of a German Shepherd. We live just over the city limit line and a lot of barking would most likely cause problems. I've already had the neighbors mention how they'd like to come down here and shoot my rooster. My response was "oh. That's not one rooster, its four!" Lol! I'm zoned agricultural, nothing they can do. Its not homes close to me either, its apartments. So they can move if they don't like it. I love my Iowa Blue rooster. If someone tried to force my to get rid of him we'd have major issues.
If anyone close by needs a rooster that thinks he's a cat let me know. He's a brahma mix. If he catches you paying attention to the other chickens he's right there wanting some. He'll jump on my back, lap or shoulder and just hang out. And he loves a good wattle rub. And its not just me, he's friendly with everyone.

Just thought I'd post quick before I head to work...again! My night with Pistol the yellow lab went well; he is kinda spoiled though! Wanted to sleep on the bed with me=--NOT! So I have 10 pages yet to read to catch up! WOW! Hey you can teach any dog not to bark (well, maybe not a terrier) it just takes time. I would think that any dog that was obtained as a pup could be brought up to bark only when needed (except a terrier!)
Well, I forgot everything that I was gonna say...Hurley what park did you think of? That was some scary link to the "other Bong!" I had never heard that it was so perinormal there. (is that the word?) One of my horses has some open blister-like thing on the corner of her mouth today. Of course it is the one that they are grooming up right now for a riding lesson for a little girl! Never fails...
Good luck on gardens today...little girl's mom is weeding mine--we are splitting the produce. And she brought help! It will be like I am in two places at once today....gotta run, the cooler air sure feels nice! Have a fantastic day! Terri O--still waiting patiently for green beans....
