morning all

taking a short break, just finished cleaning the last outside pen and ended up giving 2 of my Marans a bath... our cuckoo Marans hen is not looking good, she appears to be molting, not interested in eating either so we treated her... not sure she'll make it but we'll see.

Have to clean out the baby Marans chicks pen and then everyone is on fresh bedding.

Picked about 7 quarts of grape tomatos last night so will probably freeze them to use this winter with chilli, have some zucchini to freeze as well......

of course DH decided he needed to go to work today....

he is redoing a kitchen for a friend's sister as well as updating the 2 bathrooms and putting in laminate floor....it's nice to have the work but we have been running for the last several weeks to get things done and would have been nice to have a day to relax.... o well!

Amyable- wave as you pass the glof course just after the highway N exit when heading to TO's place! You'll be very close to us!

Back to work, have to keep the kids from fighting with each other!

My brother always gets his to tower over him too. Wish mine would get that big. I also wish I had a garden like yours. You still have time to plant beets, & most root veggies. They don't mind frosts. I was still pulling turnips last Dec.

Cind, one of my reds is a feisty one too. She has spurs & she'll use them on Moose if she's not "in the mood".

DH's band played down in IL again last night at the Penny Road Pub. Long drive, but the band sounded great. Had a decent crowd too. The band that played after them sounded really talented too, but the crowd was smaller. Kinda felt bad for them. At least it was an early evening for once. Got home before 1.

Gotta get a load in the dryer & clean out the coop again.

It's not easy having to do in any of them but it was a neccessity. Hope things calm down now! Makes it easier to count at night too! Amy congrats on the hatch!

Tomski think FT is about as close as anyone. Don't think she'd even notice if you went there and rode off with a roo under your arm on a Donkey, Draft horse, Lama, Goat, Norweigian Blue.......

good day, Annie carried the big red rooster from Sherry's pen to the now empty turkey pen.. I told her that she has carried that rooster way farther than he has walked since he got here.. LOL

the guy showed up today for the two drakes.. Annie talked him into taking the three adolescent ducks also..

we found out that the cockatiel does not like the sound of a vaccuum cleaner..

yesterday, the big peacock made his noise for the first time.. It is a hard sound to duplicate.. It is a three note vocal.. I do not think it is annoying like some people have warned me.. but then again, I am strange that way,, I like bird noises..

I did not go to Amherst auction.. it was a shot in the dark if there would be peahens there, and a 102 mile round trip was just too much of a gamble..

the cockatiel lady is going to check with some friends of hers to see if they will part with a peahen..

Hens and Roos sorry to hear about the Marans >>> I have a silkie who has been molting very hard,,,,,she hid in the corner of pen and acted really dumpy.......She is separated now and feeding her extra eggs but gee what a molt,,,,, Hope your Marans makes it,,,,,




I had 9 out of 11 eggs hatch yesterday,,,out of the two remaining one is pipped and peeping,,,,the other one is peeping.

So far there are 4 wheaton/blue wheaton Ameraucanas that are spoken for and 5 EEs. 3 chocolate EEs one real fluffy one with a red haead and 2 with white faces. A cream colored one with chipmunk stripes down the back and a cream colored one with just a tad of stripes down back. As far as pictures I would have to get a CD and then upload from cd as my computer doesnt have the "port" for pic card. So up for grabs if anyone wants the EEs. I gotta get rid of them soon as they are toooo cute.

I do have Runner ducks so if you hopped on one of those they might run faster then the donkeys. Donkeys can be very stubborn !!

Oh and no Llamas yet either !!! I don't like the idea of being spit on with green slime !!! The neighbors that have them said theirs have never spit at them but when we were there they spit at each other, wouldn't want to get in the middle of that one !!

Pony is doing great. So far I don't see the "pony side " of her YET !! She is a quick learner !!! Very smart little girl !! Must be because she is a girl !! I know alot of people don't like mares but I love them !!! Must be the same reason I love roosters !!!

The Bonfire was fun last night. They threw some pallets in !!! My first thought was What a waste of perfectly good pallets !!! I can envision a chicken coop !!! They only burnt two then had to quit. They were throwing sparks that looked like Fireworks. Alot of campers with awnings not to mention horse hay, people and dogs that wouldn't have looked so good set on fire.
They had 19 people and horses on their trail ride yesterday !!! Hopefully next year we can bring our horses over. Fun time that's for sure !!!

Well, we're moving chickens around today. Gotta go help DH ET !!

Oh and Jim, that cockatiel may in fact like the vaccum cleaner. Depends on what noise he is making !!! Will be interesting to find out if the little fellow talks or not. Wouldn't you poop if it mumbled out it's address !!!
I have a parrot that knows her address !!! But it is the old address from two houses ago !!!!

Met someone at the bonfire lastnight that has two peacocks and a peahen. Hopefully I can get some eggs from her next year !!! She has two Blue cocks and a whitish hen !!

Ok everybody !!! This is a BIG MAYBE !!!!

I might be driving down to Racine for the weekend for my nephews Birthday party which is Saturday. So I may drive down Friday ????? Alot depends on if I can get out of hear at an early enough time to maybe meet up with anyone else that may want some ROOSTERS !!! And the weather. I don't like to drive my old car in the Rain

Again I have RIR, EE, OE, BLK Ameruacana, Silkie, Bantam Turken, and ??????? what else. Ramiel I PM'd you yesterday I think.

PM me if you are interested. I take Hwy 45 down so could meet on the way to Racine Friday. Not sure what vehicle I would be taking. Our truck's topper window is broke so that wouldn't be good to use !! So looks like the back seat of the car would be the roosters roost for the ride down. I'm sure you all aren't dying to get them so I don't think I would have to many to bring !!!

PM me and let me know....... Jim I can bring what's left to your house next time we make a hay run to Merrill !!!

PS They are all this years hatch. They hens from these hatch's gave us their first egg yesterday !! So they are 20 weeks or so ???
