Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

It's starting to sound like we should dub you, DrH & Bigz as the "Grumpy Old Men" of the cheesehead thread, ya know. Only Bigz is never grumpy, and DrH is only grumpy when you push his buttons.

Suzie wanted to watch the race to CC! But I'm on a mission of 3 days of football in a row.

Nice to have that slave labor eh Jim? I can't afford it, and I know suzie doesn't have any cash. If she does, it's mine LOL!

Glad you had a safe trip north Doc. Wish the neighbor would cut my grass!

Roasted home grown chicken for supper with mashed potatoes and broccoli topped with pepper jack cheese, and ho made bread.

Hi, I just got home from the steam and antique show.. Annie asked me if there was anything new there ? It was an antique show !! Heeeere's your sign ..

I think I sunburned my toes..

company is here .. later

"New"? at an antique show? I'm betting not, right? lol
My family can stop getting married and having babies now, I'm getting tired of seeing all the family with all these "showers". lol
I think I'm gonna get to bed early tonight I'm very tired.
not much else going on
later

Jim I just erased 3 sentences of "things" I was gonna say or actually said, or actually typed. CC things happened today to change my tude and I owe it all to my BFF! Guess why thats why he is who he is. He reminded me about real life. There's nothing better than a BFF!

question for those of you who garden- we planted turnips this year, I just dug them up....so how do I prepare them?????

picked a bunch more cherry tomatoes and some roma sized ones ended up with 7 quarts again

looks like we will have lots of pumpkins this year-counted about 15-20 of them- they are turning orage already!

BBP- looks like the one taught the other to stare in the door! Very cute!

BFFs are awesome, aren't they? You must tell him I owe him a beer someday. Always nice to have a happy DrHaHa in our fold!

Mmmmmmm, H&R, turnips!!!!! Yummy! You can use them any way you use potatoes, actually. You can make scalloped turnips like you do spuds. They hold up all winter long in the frig, so I use tons of them in the winter in soups. They are sooooo tasty. Kinda a mild cabbage-ish taste to them. I also like them raw, just peeled & sliced.

I am back, had three batches of company all at once.. One of them is a young guy that I took an instant like to.. He bought some turkeys from me this spring..

today I just found out that I have known his dad for many years. not as a close friend, but a good acquaintance.. He is in a nursing home, now.. any how, I sent Rob home with 6 turkey eggs for his mother to hatch.. she thinks it is just awful to not to try to hatch every egg available.. LOL Last spring she bought some turkey eggs from me.. Rob came out to pick them up.. we showed rob how to float test an egg.. then I sent that almost ready egg along and told Rob to not tell his mother about how close to hatching it was.. It hatched within a couple of days of her setting all the eggs.. she was really surprised..LOL

Have any of you ever heard of the top beak falling off a red bourban turkey poult? doesn't that sound like a genetic problem?

I am really worn out.. I have been drinking everything in sight since I got home.. I was going to put the chicken coops back together today, but it can wait until tomorrow.. I have a couple of loads of chicken pooh to scoop up with the tractor.. I had the boys throw it out of the coop onto the ground last night,, It was too dark to fit a 68 inch wide tractor through a 72 inch wide gate..
