Cute pictures I love that little call duck, that is a call right?

My DH would be so jealous if he saw that buck. He goes out to his stand, every now and then, think he is to tired on the weekends now that he is working.. Anyway, I ask did he see any, his answer is On the way out of the woods !!! I really think he fall asleep up there. We have been here 4-5years and he hasn't gotten one yet.
The neighbors got a 150 lb bear last night. I guess he shot one the day before but just skimmed it as the blood trail wasn't much. Unfortuneately the one they got last night wasn't the same one that got hit the day before.

When Dh was in his stand last week he had a mama bear and two baby bears playing with the bag of apples he had on the ground for the deer. They were eatin them, Mama even layed down. He finally threw his hat down and to get them to leave !!

I want to get my own trail cam to just get good pictures of the bear. Almost every time I got to the feed store I will see bear. Not to close up cause by the time you get to where they are they are gone. I was so excited the first time I saw them I was like OMG OMG OMG outloud !! It was beautiful.
My dad shot one years ago and said he would never do it again. I guess their death cry sounds just like a baby crying. My dad loved his hunting but as he go older I think he turned into a softie !!! Love ya Daddy

I don't like bear hunting, I wish my husband wouldn't do it. He gets a few deer every year and at least one buck that's big. He has the one on the trail camera on his list this year. I personally feel that by killing the biggest, best looking bucks you are doing the whole deer population a diservice. Going against natural selection. But at the same time I think that a 150 lb bear is a little puny to be shooting at.
Taffy is a call duck. She's my little sweety. Always under foot and eats out of my hand. I had to clip the wings on one of my calls the other day because I found her back by the swamp where I know coyotes den. She was trying to call the others over. If she would have flown the other direction she would have found the river. The eagles would have loved that. I wonder what the duck hunters think when they're down there and my 5 girls are up here carrying on.

I got a whole load of branches back onto the burn pile.. the stumps are still tight so next spring I will give them another go..

No, the sebastopols stay here.. sorry.. one pair of toulouse and the odd one stay. Tommy the RP and his girl friend (or harem) stays, the blue laced red wyandotte rooster stays, the peacocks stay.. those are Ken's orders.. every time we butcher, he goes down the list so I don't off any of his favorites.. He gets so nervous,, LOL He told me yesterday that if it were up to him, NOTHING would be butchered.. If that were the case, we would have near 500 birds, not counting all that I sold..

as a matter fact, I took a few picture of the jungle fowl roosters about an hour ago.. FT, brace yourself..

BBP, then you would like me.. I shoot the first thing dumb enough to walk close to me.. I have more spikers to my credit than the whole hunting party combined.. LOL they always hollor at me, but I am eating nice tender meat..

I think bear tastes like pork.. I only had it once, maybe twice.. In our early years, Annie wouldn't cook the bear roasts my BIL gave to us.. I cooked it and my son and I ate it.. I guess she had corn flakes.. she is a changed woman, now.. she shoots deer . and I have to stop her from scraping squashed road killed coons and skunks off the black top..

Not a baby of course but on the smaller side. I won't eat it either. The neighbors had it once at one of their get togethers. I tasted it and it was very sweet. I don't remember hating it but just the thought of it makes me sick !!!
If I had to look a pig or cow in the face everyday and feed it I think I'd have to be a vegan !!!

We do eat alot less chicken around here I might ad!!

I told DH about the free goats and before I even got the whole sentence out he yell NO !!

The woman has polish chickens to I guess. I tried calling but no answer, maybe a good thing. Polish roosters are mean !!

Anyone want a RIR Rooster or two? They are about 6 months old.

I am so far behind. I have tons of apples on the ground and don't even know where all of my canning stuff is !!! Why the Frick did DH have to find a job this month of all times !!!!

I'm half tempted to cancel Dr Visits and come down after I get things done but well that could be like in year 2013 !!!

ETA I know better up here to let my feelings be known how I feel about bear hunting & actually deer hunting, squirrel hunting etc. Don't have a raccoon problem, the neighbors take care of them I guess. I don't even want to hear about that !!

The neigbor is a trapper, saw a huge snapping turtle hanging in his barn earlier this year !!! Poor turtle. Sad part is I really like these people. And I tell them that all the time, they know I'm a big softie !!! They are the ones rehoming some bunnies !!! Get them before they are eaten !!!

Oh gotta tell ya about this. Yesterday DH and I were out in the yard and here comes someone on an ATV. The sun was in our eyes but you could tell it was a woman but I couldn't figure out who it was. Then DH said oh it's Val. She pulls up and I said Oh who's ATV. DH and her blurt out at the same time. It's OURS, meaning DH & mine !!!

Talk about being forgetfull.
We borrowed it to them to spray their field and DH said they could keep it and use it. Which is fine but he has his that has flat tires and the auto clutch doesn't work so he feeds the horses with mine !!! He is wearing out the handlebars.
Our two we have here are lot newer but we keep them outside

and he beats the H3LL out of them !!! Plus my tire keeps going flat, and his chocolate lab chewed half my seat off !!! (No comment DR Ha)

He gave me his seat but still !!! Fix your own D@m ATV and use it. Pisses off that the old one looks alot nicer, maybe because until a year ago a different friend had it !!!

Ok, Now that I'm really ticked off !!!! I had better get off here. He'll just love it when he gets home and I start harping about the ATV. I mean really !!!!
Even our golf cart had a flat tire all summer and sat outside. Got it aired up last week now it doesn't have enough power to move. Probably old gas !!!

I think he is not the DH today as in Dear !!!!! WOW am I worked up. I had better get going !!!
