Just got back in from town. STILL have not been to Menards to pick up the stove pipe - Got completely side-tracked. Stopped at a Multi-family Garage/Rummage sale. I bought a heavy duty composite tool box that fits INSIDE the bed of a truck for 5 bucks. It's 4L X 2.5D X 2H. I figured it would be perfect to store alfalfa hay, outside the door to the outside run. Should keep the mice outta it.

Beautiful day to be outside! Guess I'll play with my new tool box and get it all set up nice and pretty...

Might even walk over to the neighbors with a couple of cold beers...

I'm NEVER gonna get this garage thing done.... LOL

Ok, I'm settled down now. I was pretty riled earlier. We decided originally to meet at 11:00 then I got the "I'm gonna be an hour late." Well, she ended up getting them at 1:40. Apparently, she had bad directions? Hopefully spending my whole day doing that pays off and they now have a good home.

Beautiful Afternoon in Wisconsin....The feed mill in Big Falls has a special on BOSS. $10.49/30lb bag not bad compared to what fleet charges for it.

The weekly Marion paper has a picture of one of the Shawano County Highway workers with a wolf across the back of his pick-up that was prolly hit by a car....that's what they assume anyway. Another blackish one has been spotted right here where I'm at. They sure are a beautiful looking animal. They figure he weighs at least 100lbs.

Yep they hire part time help every year for the busy season. Couple weeks ago they gave away 11 black copper marans to the 11th person to answer their email. A lady in Texas won them. They had alot of folks respond. I was a loser once again. I think you should go for the job Angie....like you said....talk chickens and get payed for it.

Good score on the tool box Tomski.

I use to have a 4X8 shack like the OM'S. We never used a trailer. Tip it up....drive the truck under and against the shack and simply lift and slide on the truck bed. Mine was heavy and 3 people could do it no problem....just a thought FT. I'd measure first and see if it would work.

Later....bigz

Bigz - That's a pretty good deal for BOSS. The lady that cuts my hair also works at Menards with the morning (4-8am) stock crew - Lately, I've been bringing her a dozen eggs everytime I go in for a cut. We started talking about how now that it's getting colder, I've been throwing a couple of cups of BOSS in the run each day AND how darned expensive BOSS it is. Apparently, every once in a while, Menards has a KILLER one or two day sale on it ($14.99 for #50) She said that next time it's on sale, she'll grab me two bags and give me a call - That's INCLUDING her 10% discount! LOL - see - it pays to be a sweet talkin', chicken rancher who tips well...

Oh well, we'll see

The truck tool box works perfect for the alfalfa. I got a full bale plus a feed bag full of sweeping in it. Should have some nice compost for the garden when I rake all that crap outta the run this spring!

I think I'm gonna drop the bucks and put a six foot fence around my garden this year... I think I can get a good deal on some 10' 5" fence posts
big_smile.png
It's the actual fencing that's gonna hurt the wallet. I already have a 5' high - 6' wide chain link gate that I've been using in the garden to trellis cukes...

BBP - Glad everything worked out for ya.

FT - shoot me a time for the swap. I'm not sure if you guys got a deer or not this year- - can't remember.... But do you want some Venison? I have over 100lbs ground up and packaged in 1lb servings. (It's a pain, but learned the hard way by freezing too big of servings and throwing stuff out) ANYWAY - You want 5-10 pounds? I could also bring you some of my famous Venison loaf - all ready to throw in the oven (must like onions).. LOL I'm not sure on the hot dogs yet - gotta some more testing to do before I start giving those away. I like to make sure everything tastes good... I'm not real happy with the casings - and my buddy and I haven't divided them up yet...

I know I shouldn't say this... but... I sure wish we had more snow on the ground... LOL

Later Folks... Stand at ease, I'll be in the area most of the evening...
