Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

WOWzers! that's alot of feed. I don't think my car could handle that!
gig.gif
but that price! $267? I paid $50ish for 4 bags of feed (2 layer, 1 corn 1 goat chow) I too like those prices, except for the bill all at once THAT would suck!

DrH I'm confused on something, did you get scolded for something? a chickies name? by a mod? HUH?

Good Night all! still like the list of whos all in the thread thats cool! :D

They have about 4 or 5 recipes for me in their customer index box (looks like a recipe file) I keep changing it. The last batch was to powdery so I went up knotch to the next recipe !!! I'm sure they love me there !!! BUT I go for feed EVERY TWO WEEKS for Chickens and horses !!!! Hopefully I'll get my ***** downstairs and separate my silkies into the pens I want and then start selling eggs !!
Kinda sad that after we left the feed store I made OM stop at GoodWill. I refuse to buy anything new for myself, or should I say I can't afford it. Even if I could it would bother me !!!! Unless of course I had a Sugar Daddy !!!
gig.gif
Did anyone watch 20/20 tonight ? That's what they were talking about !! Especially college students going on line to find Sugar Daddy's. UW Wisconsin was 5Th highest in the list of colleges that are doing it. The students are doing it to pay their tuition !!! My only question is WHERE WAS THE INTERNET WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND GOOD LOOKING !!!!
gig.gif
As usual when My ship came in I was at the airport !!!
th.gif

I'm craving another piece of that Peanut butter cheese cake !!! And CC I don't think it was baked OR fried !!!
lau.gif
P
PS Just remembered seeing a program on yesterday about women having two partners. They aren't married like the guys with two wives !!!
HMMMMM something to check into !!! Find one with Money, maybe OM would even help me find him.My luck He'd find one that hunts, goes fishing and I"d be back to square one. Me, myself and I with another kid, oh I mean man to take care of !!!
Wow, I'm talking weird, must be either the fish or all that sugar , YUM !!!

I found what I think is a mite on my injured hen. So tonight I went out to the coop to treat everyone with Eprinex. I filled the syringe with 6cc's and went to do the first hen. Not sure if I had air in there or what, but it all came bursting out of there and got all over the hen and all over my face! It even went in my eyes. So my hen is overdosed and I'm going to get cancer.
That's why I never use a large syringe to dose a small amount. It is way to hard to dispense just a small amount while trying to hold a kickin chickin let alone deal with a dysfunctional syringe.

Unless all of the liquid got on her bare skin she should be OK. Ivermectin has a very large safety margin for overdosing. She might lose some feathers on the spot if a huge amount hit the skin but that is about the extent of the harm it will do. But that said, do keep an eye on her droppings and of course her actions for a while. If her droppings turn lime green it is either a kidney or liver disease or both. I doubt it caused any harm but just keep an eye open just in case.

As for you getting cancer, who knows maybe you'll never get it because of your "treatment"

I hope you rinsed your eyes out very well. They do use ivermectin for worms in people and I'm sure in greater amounts then you received but look at it this way, you just dewormed yourself !!!

OK, guys, falling asleep here, gonna say goodnight unless someone posts something that I just have to reply to !!

HI People (and any critters reading along)!

DrH... she's a cutie! Hope you get many more!

Guess not much to say. The unstuck hen seems to be doing OK. No blood in the "bachlor" coop... so that's good. I think the hens in the main coop are a bit more relaxed with only 2 roos in there.

Yep, that's it.... Night All!

Good Morning Everyone! Cool on the 4 chicks FT! Need pics ya know. My boat came in too. Turned out to be a 10' leaky John boat that constantly needs to be bailed out.

Got up at 2:30 for a potty break nothin new in the bator and Samborena was fine. Got up at 5 and see a beak stickin out of a shell on one of the unmarked eggs. Haven't seen it move yet, I'm worried. I do a lot of that!
th.gif
Last night and this morning I dunked Samborena's beak in the water. Raim had to change Sambo's name to Samborena because someone gave me a hard time about it being a boys name. Probably FT, you know how she is.

Cind glad to hear your hen is OK! BBP sorry to hear about getting it in your eyes! But glad to hear your now worm free!

Think the stalker is one of the many MIA's. Beaker still hasn't moved

TO 28 days on that duck egg right?

Happy Saturday Morn !

All this talk of incubating eggs has me wanting to do it! I think it's just too much of a PITA in the winter... Not wanting to brood them in the house, I think heat will be too much of an issue. I also need to make a couple of smaller breeding coops with their own runs that could double for "Juvenile housing."

About 9pm last night, the dog started going ballistic - barking at the chicken run. I went out with my flashlight and there was a HUGE Opossum on top of the run! I dispatched him with my Ruger "Air Hawk" - 1000 fps pellet gun. One shot, one kill.
wink.png
It was the first time I actually "used" the air rifle. It was a bit pricey but I figured it was A LOT quieter than a 22cal. No Co2 cartridges, One pump, one kill....

This morning there were tracks all around the entire coop/run area. It looks like the critter was casing the joint pretty good. I wonder why the dog didn't pick up on the fact that there was a predator out there earlier?

BBP - That's kinda scary getting that crap in your eye... Hope everything is okay today!

I'm thinking Jim must be using the old Web TV system. There has got to be a way to clear his cache and memory... I'm pretty sure that's why he can't log in.

Got 10 eggs yesterday... BTW - I'm still feeding the Omega-enhanced Pellets and going through WAY less feed - which MORE than compensates for the price of the feed. I'll bet I'm saving at least 20 bucks a month with the pellets. So far, I'm liking them.

Well, time to start moving....

Laters....

Wellll still haven't seen Beaker move and it's been 5 hours. Think it's DOA. But have 2 white shelled Barn eggs jumpin and one is peepin away. Tomski good job on the opposum! Guess we don't have to ask whats for supper
lau.gif
Have always prided myself on the one shot one kill! Don't think I'd last long in combat waiting for that perfect head shot. Have a bolt .270 that drives tacks and just love to shoot it. Laura thinks it's funny the way I go nuts with the hatch but she's in there looking almost as much as I am. Gotta go read an E from Jim.

Tom, opussums are no threat to your chickens. Neither are skunks. They just wanted the chicken feed. They might eat some eggs or chicks if they had the opportunity, but they are most likely going for the feed &/or scratch.

I had a skunk getting into my carport every night last winter. I watched him on the camera go eat their food, then run to get a drink, then back to the food again. Little stinker, literally.
lol.png
One night one of my little banties was down on the floor eating right next to it.
ep.gif
Worried me at first, but as I watched, they didn't seem to care that the other one was there. DH found where he was getting in & sealed it up. Once it couldn't get back in, it moved on.
