Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CC I guess the piggy girls can get quite temperimental at that time of the month. Piggy PMS !! She is already a little stinker !!!
According to one of the pot belly pig (pbp) sites they say they are prone to developing uterine tumors by the time they are 2 yrs old and don't live as long. I've talked to two vets and they haven't hear of that although I don't think they are pbp experts either !!

Unaltered rabbits are prone to reproductive cancers also, and early death.
Cind, take it easy with that hand!

Aply, I'm sorry, but that avatar of yours is a little questionable looking................

cute once your mind gets OUT of the gutter. lol

so we went to the school here and went to an open house for the charter school that is IN our school. we're thinking of sending DS11 to it next year. gonna be more like a one room school house, cept there's 3 rooms. lol so it's possible that next year I will have one kid in public school, 1 in a charter school, and 3 in home school. lol any who, we filled out the application for him to attend but theres a waiting list. so we will see.
hopefully.
gotta run, the Finder is on (and recording) I'm gonna throw everyone in bed and watch it. lol OH by the way, Ladies, if you get the chance to watch "When in Rome" watch it, that is funny. It was not easy to watch while everyone slept. too funny. ok ok you men can watch it too, but it's a girly movie. lol
later all

Hi! CC, I doubt I'll be going to the bash in May as I don't make many road trips because I have metal pins in my neck & get pretty uncomfortable on long trips. If I take pain pills then I shouldn't drive - so I'm stuck either way. With gas projected to be $4-5 a gallon it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY I'll be traveling anywhere! If I can meet up with Teri or Carol or someone else in the Madison area to send up some plants to the bash, I'd be happy too, otherwise we can do the SASE thing. Just remind me if it doesn't come up again or I forget.

Teri - your bee hive(s) request went out to entire the bee group this morning (I got it,...)

Speaking of bees, pollination and Spring, check out this incredible video! Be sure to look for the baby bat hanging on its mother when the bats are shown. I LOVE this video!

The beauty of pollination

I'm not sure if I'm going to the Garden Expo or not, depends on if my sister comes up or not.... There's always next year! I guess I don't feel the overwhelming need to do it this year because this winter hasn't been so bad! I've been able to be out with the chickens almost every day so I don't feel nearly as winter bound as I usually do!

Well, I must run to the library before I completely freeze!
Stay warm!
Elaine

CC & Raimnel lol I was trying to find a pic with both dogs in it lol I didn't even think like that until you said something. The pic was from xmas morning, the kids got everyone up by 4:30am and by 6am both dogs were huddled together passed out. I think they were trying to stay out of the way of all the paper flying lol.

Awwww, c'mon! I was just the first person brave enough to say something.

But at least you admitted that your mind was rolling in the gutter right next to mine.

I'm sorry, Apyl. I didn't mean that you should change your avatar. Just ignore me. Everyone else does, right Jim?

Elaine, I completely understand. My whole neck is wired together. Not a comfy thing at all. If you could get some plants to TO sometime, I could get them from her. Otherwise, just PM me your addy & I can shoot you an envelope in the fall. Whatever works for you is fine with me. Thank you!

Bf4, patience, grasshopper.

good evening, although I am a bit peeved.. I spoke to the woman this morning about getting the peahen tomorrow. I couldn't go today because SHE was busy.. I just called to set a time and she informed me that it is SOLD.. Sh!T/d@mn !! I am disappointed, can you tell? Oh well, I still have 2 hens.. I went through the same type of stuff trying to get my royal palm flock set up. Now I have 6 good hens.. 3 of which are laying eggs already this season.. I put together a quick nest spot for them.. It will have to do until I get a decent one set up..

I sold a guy some nice barred rock roosters a couple of years ago.. I hope he has some extra ones that I can buy back.. I have that one that I just bought, but he is slightly built..

Bu t he will have to do the job if I can't find a nicer one.. that other dud I bought looks like a barred wheaton Americauna.. anybody want a $2 rooster ? I paid $10 for him,, he will find the soup kettle otherwise.. He is a crowing fool for sure..

to train your setter to get along with the chickens, you have to get them together at close quarters, not keep them separated,,.. it takes time.. but it is well worth it.. If you have an aversion to a rolled up newspaper, then you will have to do it by voice commands.. and always on a leash.. It boils down to , how badly do you want to break him?? I could not tolerate living with the threat that if the dog got loose , it would kill my birds.. My cats, (the few I had) were all tolerant of chicks..

DrH, I am still not getting the notifications when someone posts on byc either.. I was at first, and then it stopped.. No matter, I just hit favorites and check in anyhow..
