Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Evening all!
Still have only one chick....I hope that another one hatches. I think I hear a little peep now and again in the bator, but it might be my wishful thinking.
So...as I was driving home from walking the lab, a name for the baby popped into my head.....Benjamin...Ben for short. I figure even is He ends up being a she then I shall call her Ben the Hen.
Anywhoooooo.......to all of those Evil People (ie. CC, DrH, FT, BF4) posting chick pics.....two words PAYBACK TIME! Mawhahahahaahaahaahhahhaaaaa *cough-gasp-cough*

Here is Ben (before he got de-gooped) with his little "friend":

Here is another one with goop still present:

And here is Ben all clean and goop free:

Totally different looking chick right! He is such the sassy bird. Less then 24 hours old and already being feisty!

Went to go feed him and he was wanting to peck my hand-repeatedly! Silly chickie. I figure by Sunday he will be ready to try some mini meal worms.

Like I said in post #17036, "Cind, on your saddle pattern, I compared it to mine, which fits buff orps well & is a little big on blk. aussies, is a little bigger than mine, just so you know.
Mine measures: 7 1/2" wide (yours 8 1/2), 6" length on the body (8 3/4" total), 3" x 2 3/4" for the section between the wings. For Aussies, I'd say take a 1/2" off the measurements".
So 7" wide, take 1/4" off the length of the body (5 3/4") & 1/4" off the section between the wings (2 3/4" x 2 1/2"), so the total length would be 8 1/4"? I think that would work well. And don't be silly. Of course I will pay you, but thank you so much for your generous offer. You're now da bestest in my book! Again!

FT- Of course Ben is a pullet since I want a cockerel! LOL!!
Ben is an American Game Fowl (AGF) from a friends (Nick) flock out in CA. DH sent the eggs to me when he was out there a few weeks ago. I'm hoping for a breed called an Albany but I don't think that any of those eggs have hatched yet. DH and Nick failed to mark the eggs when they were pulling eggs from the nests.

Nick breeds mainly Albany's but he only had three eggs, so he added some more eggs from his mixed flock of game fowl. I won't know what exactly Ben is until he is older.

Managed to teach my boss something today! I finished Kathy Reichs' book Spider Bones last night, and came to work telling my coworker and my boss about the ending (LOVED IT!). I will not give away the details BUT it involves a very unique and rare genetic phenomenon. He did not believe that such a thing was possible and had to look it up! He was amazed that such a thing can happen and that people can exist their entire lives without realizing they have this. :D

Oh, Kathy Reichs' books are the basis for the TV show Bones (love that one too).

Going to a Mardi Gras party tomorrow night. Found an amazing dress at St. Vinnies and picked up a few accessories today to go with it (feather boa and the like). And NO I am not going to try and get as many beads as possible.... this is WI for crying out loud.....
