Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Awww Cind, I am so sorry to hear about your hen.

DrH, I remember you telling us about Buster. I loved the one where you spun around to face him & he fell in the mud puddle. "Well, that didn't work out like I planned".

Excellent job with Wally, Ang! That's great news. I'm glad you two "made up".

Apyl, so sorry you lost another chick. Congrats on the truck.

BL4, sounds like you had a great time. I just love going shopping & spending time with my mom.

Tiki, adorable chicks!

FT, Little Suamico is east of 41/141 & Soebieski (have NO idea if I spelled that right). I hope Auntie E calms down a little for you. She sounds like a pistol.

Jim, maybe the Del. roo thought he died & went to heaven?

BBP, that duckling is the cutest! He looks like he's smiling for the camera.

TO, I hope you are feeling much better tomorrow. I felt tired as all heck all day today. So glad I made a kettle of HM chicken wild rice soup yesterday, cuz I was not feeling like cooking today. SIL brought the nieces over yesterday to play with the chickies and deliver GS cookies. I might have picked up a bug from them?

So Terri, is Roadrunner a mixed breed or ? She sure has some pretty coloring to her. Are you sure you want to catch that skunk????

Well, I hope I didn't miss too many of you. My eyes are really getting tired, and I just realized I still have to feed cats & make DHs lunch for tomorrow.

I sure hope we are going to get those 50s starting Tues. I really hope they stick around for a while. All this snow junk is getting old. I am so ready for spring & gardens & planting &.............
Sweet dreams, all!

Beautiful chickens guys and gals! And an adorable duckling too!

TO I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Sorry for your loss!

Congrats!

Sorry if I missed something.

good morning. my busted up shoulder woke me at 4AM.. I can usually switch positions and the pain goes away, but not today..

TerriO, The lady who gave me the rooster told me it was Blue Laced red wyandotte.. IDK I am not into multiple breeds or exotic breeds.. I just took her word for it..

and as for feather color, I am very color blind.. so I never take much notice.. I just know this is one pretty bird,,,,,,,and he throws pullets,,,,,,,,,,,

so, what kind of rooster is he ?? quoting FT. " inquiring minds want to know."

If he is not a blrw, I will not pursue looking for a hen...

he is also the rooster that the lesbos told me that their rooster was " much prettier "..

I have mixed emotions about the up coming warm weather.. it will feel nice,, but it is going to be a wet soggy mess..

............jiminwisc............

ETA: NOW I need help.. what kind of rooster do I have? I did some searching, but have not found anything like him.. Salmon Favourille, is close, except for the feathered legs..

Good Morning All! Jim I hear ya on the not getting comfy thing. Have a shoulder and a knee that do that occasionally. The up side is that it's not every night.

Looks like a blrw to me too. Us color challenged people have to stick together! Neat lookin boy and a pullet producer too you better hang on to him. CC I had forgotten about Buster sliding. Made me LOL again. He didn't slide and fall in the mud it was chicken poop

What justice! Those are some really cute chicks tiki can see why you like them. BBP cute duckie too! GR65 glad you could get on if you miss even a day it's overwhelming! Bigz I think I scewed up by using the stove without the combustion blower the first couple of days. Have some build up in the chimney and now have ewwy goowy creosote in by the ash pan area. Going to clean the chimney tomorrow and hopefully that'll fix the problem. Going to be nasty cleaning that up. Also think [know] that some of the wood wasn't as dry as it should have been. Got the details on picking up DD32 at Mitchel on the 17th now have to look up the parking for that terminal. Been years since I've been there. Going to be so good to see her!

Going to get my chicken chores done, bring in some wood and then finish the ceiling. It has those 1x2' ceiling panels on it and I had to do the seams first and then there were 2 places where something was spilled upstairs and had to double coat those with stain blocker. Need to get to Rapids this week and get more mud, chicken feed and get my ears lowered. Not looking forward to all the sanding ahead.

good morning DrH, I sure was lonely here for the past couple of hours..

I was helping to put a house back together after the tornado went through wausau about 30+ years ago.. the roof was gone and I was walking along the top of a partition wall when I stepped off and fell.. I "caught" myself with my elbow on top of the wall.. chipped my elbow and tore my shoulder .
I never went to a Dr about it, .. It didn't give me any grief until much later.. Now it gives me grief all the time..

CC,, yeah, that must have been how the Del Roo felt.. I'll bet he heard angels singing.. Now I just hope he figures out what to do with all those gals.. Prolly won't know where to start, so he maybe won't start.. eh?

DrH, I used to put on really thin coats of mud.. I hated sanding sooooo much.. I would rather mud four times than sand once... I usually could wet sand so there wouldn't be any dust..

You know you did too much mudding when you get good at it.. I only did it because I couldn't afford to hire it done..

............jiminwisc............

Wet sanding hmmmm. Have a palm sander but man the dust! The dust collector fills up fast with that fine powder. Don't have a problem with it being put on too thick, not thick enough actually. But like you say thin multiple coats = less sanding. Don't think I'll ever be good at it but think I'll be good enough!

Morning all- looks to be sunny out so far today! Haven't been outside since Sat. been holding the couch down since Sunday morning- DS(6) was sick 1 day last week and won't you know it I have it now only worse than he did. Sure wish parents wouldn't send their kids to school sick!! watched the neighbor do that a few times.....

had to laugh about the drywall mudding- DH and I have to do that from time to time and neither of us like to!!

TO hope you feel better!

DH did all the chores for me this morning- sounds like he opened the run doors on the coop. The boys are voicing themselves! Waiting to hear if the peacock starts in with his call- sounds like a kazoo (sp)

hope everone has a good monday!

Morning guys,

3 for 3 on the shoulder issues,,,mine got torn up when I took a spill on a sheet of steel that was under 6" of snow on a construction site, same deal Jim no doctor visit (young and dumb) then a few years later started giving me occasional fits

I hear you Jim on the wet mess ahead with this weather change, woke up this morning with a drip over my kitchen sink,,,best place to have one except I had a new roof 18 months ago, then had the place re-insulated,,,,obviously still have a warm air trap in that part of the attic,,,later today on the roof for some shoveling and ice melt,,,grrrr

Does anyone know of a good source for the old fashioned heavy hardware cloth? My Ace and Menards have the cheap/thin new stuff,,,,I have an old partial roll but will need more 1/2X1/2" for these projects...I need to make a FF trip to Antigo soon,,maybe they have it,,,nearest TSC is in Iron Mt,,,unless I go to the VA it's a long trip to a small store,,,,hmmm
