Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Terri, if you catch your skunk and don't know where to go with it, you can bring him here any time. Skunks are harmless. I've had them in my coop a few times. Even watched one eating side by side with one of my banties.

It never even gave her a second look.

My mom had a skunk and her baby sleeping in her coop one summer. They stayed for a few days then moved on. The little one would walk right next to us. If there wasn't a chance of catching rabies I probably would have had to touch it. There are pictures of them somewhere in my junk around here. When my cats are finally dead I'm getting a pet skunk.

Aren't they adorable, especially when they're babies? I really, really like skunks. I had a momma & 3 of her babies coming to my back door one winter, so I would toss any cat food & scraps out there that the cats wouldn't finish. By spring they moved on too.

Oh thank you for saying such nice things about skunks.... I hate to hear about wild animals getting killed for no other reason that doing what they do.

Cleaned out the Marine tank.... yuck! Lots of nasty red scummy algae all over the place. Did a partial water change and then ran out and picked up some 'housekeeping' critters. We has some crabs but needed a few more so I picked up 10 more of the little hermits, two turbo snails, and a Lawnmower Blenny. I am hoping I return next week to a sparkling clean tank with happy fishies! It will be awesome to finally be able to get anemones and live coral; but we need a protein skimmer for that.

The oldest DD got her temps finally. Everyone stay off the roads!!!!

I love critters. I made sure we made our yard critter friendly with plenty of food sources for every time of the year, as well as many different types of landscape. We have our lawn, a grassy plain, an orchard, tree lines and a pine forest. And a manmade river for a water source. Darn near everything we planted had to be beneficial in some way to either birds or animals. But that's just me. I enjoy seeing lots of wildlife in my yard, and with plenty of things for them to eat, they leave my chickens alone. But I also made sure we tried to make our chicken area as critter-proof as we possibly could. You just never know.

hello, I had a call from Marlene today.. 1 hour and 13 minutes worth.. I asked her about the rooster.. "Oh," says she, "he was a barnyard cross I picked up somewhere in Hatley.."

I thought except for a few differences,he looked like a splash wyandotte..

well, mutt or no, he has a home..

right after Marlene hung up, my niece called.. I said I just got off the phone after an hour and 13 minutes.. "WOW" says she.. "that sure was a long call. who can talk that long ?" well apparently she can,,, she was on for 88 minutes.. that is an hour and 28 minutes, in case anybody is keeping score..

Hi all...

I don't mind any animal in my yard as long as it stays out of trouble! Skunks can be nice critters but, they will eat eggs and even a chick so I would just as soon not have them around.

I had dislocated both shoulders. The one I did when I delivered papers, shoved the paper in the box and forgot to let go! The other one I'm not sure what I did. The pissy thing about dislocated shoulders is once they go out it's easy to knock them out again. I've done it my sleep many times and it seems to take days to get it right again. I feel for ya Jim... hope it gets better soon!

Well, it's official! My little girl is growing up! Little Isis is having her first heat! Now we have to find a cheap place to get her spayed!

CU later!

Call duck #2 just hatched. I had to help this one. I don't think the 3rd one is getting out. He's been tapping for 24 hours and hasn't even put a crack in the egg. I don't help unless they've at least gotten that far.

Evening all!
WOW! You all were quite chatty! Not much to report here and I just wanted to catch up on the reading here but I kinda skimmed through. Although TO's blank posts sure helped! LOL!

Chat later....Cold Case is getting good....
