Evening all!
Got a portion of the coop cleaned. Will do more tomorrow. The Girls were a big "help". They are rather bummed that the back part of their run is a pond. Not being ducks they do not find this amusing! If the ice melts enough in the next few days, then I can open the "human" door and put some sand in their run to help with the puddles. Poor things. I keep telling then that next week we get warmish weather and sun so then they can be out and about!!
Buzzy is doing better. She has been really under the weather with the cold. I put a heat lamp on her and still she was off her feed. I told DH about it and he said that she might have gap worms. Apparently pheasants are really prone to Gap Worms. So this weekend when DH is home, she will get wormed and since she will be in my hands, I'll dust her too. She is a very fat and very strong pheasant so she is hard for me to hold on to while trying to worm her. With the weather warming up she seams a little happier and will eat her bread treat so that makes me happier.
The babies are doing great and Abner the RIR is looking very Anber-ish and Ben is looking Ben-ish. It's hard sometimes with the Game Fowl since even the pullets can have a more "male-like" tail set.
DrH-sorry to hear about your PR. Take a bunch of the Airborne stuff. It works great! Hope that will keep the hair dressers germs from germ-inating!!! LOL!!!
BF4-Did you learn nothing from my math lesson a few days back? Chickens don't count unless the hens lay....So you won't have any chickens....Besides what all those out building for anyway? Looks? I'm sure they are lonely and in need of something to do....
TO-Feel better and go to the Doc. Strep is not something to play around with. Glad your daughter likes her new car.
Welcome to BHH (blackhorsehill) and Joann the 4-H mom!
Apyl-I agree those ducks look pekin to me too. But you never know with TSC what you are going to get-it's a mystery sometimes. I got six bantams last year that were a total unknown breed wise. Just got them out of the "assorted" bin. Ended up with to OEGB and a Sebright.
Chix=Good luck with the board people. I take a sample of your well water and if they deny you chickens ask them to deny the gold course the use of pesticides. If that does not work become an Outlaw like me. Just keep some hens on the down low, ply your neighbors with fresh eggs and act like your doing nothing wrong.
Jim-meant to tell you that your peacock is beautiful when you posted the pic with his tail all fanned out! He sure is a cute hood ornament!
Tiki-Yes that Lucy Rabbit is something else. Her name is BBQ now unless. She had her chance and blew it. I am not heart broken at all. It's like making stew out of a mean rooster. She is a wild one and I had a feeling she was going to be this way. I have two really sweet babies out of Maggie and a beautiful broken black out of Cali so I always keep one of those. But then I'd need another breeding buck......
