Ha! No kidding! What a great place to watch a game...we had amazing seats on the first base line seven rows up and the weather was warm and sunny. Terrific. Cubs won too, which was a bonus. I had a polish and nachos and then some soft serve I was like a big kid and we all had a lot of laughs the girls loved having the day off from school.

Dr. H it sounds like you had a great last day at work they are going to miss you, I'm certain of that. Hopefully you won't spend the next twenty years padding around your house in your bathrobe and slippers, drinking gin from the bottle and missing the good old days. HA!!!!! You're going to have a blast.

Lr I was just kidding about the .270

The girl down the road has some silkie chicks and now that I've got the birds in the coop away from the house now Mom gives our girls the green light to have two more silkies in a brooder in the sunroom. Sheesh. So I'm picking up two blue silkies tomorrow. I can now add birds in my coop at will cause I'm the only one that counts them!!!! Suhweet.

Bigz Nooo your the best!!! fm will do, setting my alarm for something important for a change. It very seldom gets a chance to go off. Hope that changes! Really looking forward to seeing you again and meeting BCC. I'll be the grinning idiot skipping around in the JP hat.

Glad to see everyone having a good day!

We candled our eggs tonight as it is day 7 and have the following: 3 eggs out of 4 Welsummer eggs are showing good potential-the 4 th egg is to difficult to tell and 4 eggs out of 6 BW/W Ameracuna eggs show good growth-of course I ended up dropping one of them but it was one that was clear...

so far all our other birds are doing good and not showing any problems

Dr H -enjoy your retirement!

if this swap is like it was at the other site, I'll be selling out of a big black dodge truck (my brothers), and have a steel gray packer hat with my avatar pined on and a black copper feather.

You guys have been busy again! Glad to hear the last day went well DrH! Cool that you got the "teach your chicken to swim" kit...I have always wanted one of those...

I am heading off to the horse fair in Madtown in themorning...hoping to meet Beckyschicks there! How fun--2 for 1 hobbies! It is getting late--I'd better get to bed! Made3 my reservations for horse camping over Mothers' Day weekend at Ukarydee near Necedah. I cant wait--another tradition for my daughter and I! I hope we dont have any storms like in past years! OK bedtime!!! Terri O

Dang it! Just checked H&R's post and mine in progress disappeared. It was really good too! Honest! Gotta eat then sleep then go look at non swimming chickens with potential. Stupid Chickens! H&R sounds like your on your way to a grin on your face. Hope so!

Good Morning-looks like it will be nice!

To everyone going enjoy the horse fair-I'll wave as I drive past on the beltline-heading to work today-have 3 rental units all needing to be clean and ready to go for May 1st. Couple need to be painted as well so I'm getting a head start on that-kids weren't to thrilled but they know it works! DH is going to assembly a swing set for someone else today. Maybe one of these weekends we'll get the chance to start work on the new coop. Can't complain, it's what keeps us being able to afford what we have

Hey Dr H-I've had that happen too! From what I have seen chickens don't like to swim-witness that first hand and had to go get the dumb rooster, call him DA for short! So if you figure out how to teach them to swim you might have a nice retirement project

Have a good one!

the swap is next weekend, we went all the way and its next week

the only posted date that was wrong was the UW web site. so it looks like next week I'll (we) be going again. we did go to the wega swap on the way home and I sold my 4 ducks so it was not a total loss.

BCC, fm and cousin D. I felt so bad that you guys got up early and drove all that way for next to nothing. Came close myself to putting on that many miles. For anyone ever planning to go next time it's about 1 mile south of Kellner on W. Bad date, bad directions. I saw that several other people also got the wrong date. I was close behind you on my way to dig up the garlic at the BFF's. Got about 40 plants.

Came home and kicked butt in the garage. Sooo much more to sort! But already so much better. BCC I had already liked you on the posts but meeting you sealed the deal. Your good people! Beautiful birds! As for you fordmommy your a mean naughty person! Make me hold babies, you knew exactly how to play me. You don't know how close I came to bringing home something I didn't want. I feel sorry for your DH! L is down next to the state line visiting her fam; that's another thing that I've put off for too long but she actually sounded like today's fiasco was a good thing. She wants to go next weekend. I think Peaches eating out of her hand and not mine is purging the city out of her. Baby steps! I was walking back to the house earlier and caught myself grinning while singing the Stones. Tiiiime is on myside. Yes it is. It hasn't hit yet it's like it's slowly coming to me. In very small increments. Just little flashes. It's lunch and nap time. Fair thee well good people!

BCC I've done that already glad you sold your ducks. I had a busy day seperating chicks. Split a coop in half to make room. My daughter had fun carrying lumber around and handing me spikes and nails. She is three years old. She had fun catching chicks and putting them in their new coop. Went in the house and all I could smell is rhubarb upside down cake in the oven!!

So once it cools off I may gain a pound tonight. Kinda cool out today and the wind is crazy.
