Good evening! WOW--did I have the posts to read...DrH--ya cracked me up with your last comment to FT! (Only guys think like that!) I am sure that wasnt what she was doing (or not doing) THanks for the beeps on your way past...but ya shoulda called me if you stopped in LM anyhow! I could have brought you some more rooster eggs!
Good smells coming out of the kitchen...it's Corned beef night...it got so late last might after working outside and I didnt want tgo to the grocery store...should have--it went to THREE today before I found the beef! When I called the Pig the stupid woman there told me that they had it so I went out there (Sentry in town was out) I got there and asked the butcher to point me in the direction of it and; Yup you guessed it, they were OUT! So I made the crappy clerk look up the number for Walmart for me. THey didnt have any in the shelf but he assured me that the computer said there was 30 in the freezer. So I went there...he already had them out on the shelf---they werent frozen though....weird. Anyway--I was glad that I went to the Pig cause they had turnips and parsnips too add...and their cabbage was 10 cents a pound cheaper! No one had any fresh beets though...I guess I will take a look in my freezer...I am sure I have some left from the garden last year. All that typing just to say we are having CB&C!
So yesterday I ended up going on a 3 hour horseback ride and then DH and I walked the 2 miles to the bar! He had CB&C (even though we are having it tonight--he says he could eat it every day!) So DD26 was there with some of her friends...we gt home around 11 and I had to get up at 4:45 t make it to the swap! My neighbor (the guy with the bunnies) drove. He bought some pigeons and some Peking ducks. I bought 2 dishes! Yes I held out! There were a mess of PB pigs there FT! All boars. I was tempted....MLH must have found her rabbits cause there sure were a bunch for sale. I didnt see her though... I saw a few really nice barred rock roos that I would have liked...guess I just wasnt in the buying mood! Really weird for me for sure...
I heard today that the quail I gave to the sunday school to hatch produced NOTHING! The girl said the eggs were rocking the other day and one pipped; but none made it out. She thought I would be mad that she killed them! I told her that she is welcome to try again...there are always more eggs.
Well I suppose I better fo and check my veggies and get the beets from the freezer...I cant wait to eat dinner! One of my favorite meals for sure!
