Good Morning Everybody! Can tell it's spring a lot of stink finger goin around.

Cind sorry to hear about your hen your not alone. Found Bit*h dead yesterday morning. Knew it was coming and was gonna cull her before leaving for up nort so Donny didn't have to deal with it. Already forgot who was talking about hinging their window. I hinged mine on the top too from the inside then added hooks and eyes so they can be left open even in the rain. Works great! Tons to do today starting with making a bunch of B'fast burrito's.

Oh no... I called them my baby girls because they came running to see me whenever i was outside. These are my oldest two. My free rangers. And I'm going to post a pic as to how it got into the coop. I don't know WHAT kind of predator could do it. They ripped a board in half, two feet up off the ground. I am incredibly sad... But ultra p!ssed too! I can totally see how people can shoot animals that try to kill their chickens....

Oh no... I called them my baby girls because they came running to see me whenever i was outside. These are my oldest two. My free rangers. And I'm going to post a pic as to how it got into the coop. I don't know WHAT kind of predator could do it. They ripped a board in half, two feet up off the ground.
I am incredibly sad... But ultra p!ssed too! I can totally see how people can shoot animals that try to kill their chickens....

raccoon is the only animal around here that can do that! I have had them rip wire off a 4x4 post and it was stapled on! Get a live trap and get trapping, they will be back!

Cind they will LOVE the upstairs! much more room lol right now the biggest "floor space" in my house is MY king size bed. so the kids go sit on MY bed and play. lol

Good morning! Very sunny with nice blue skies here....but chilly 38*! I keep hearing the furnace turn on...DH is still here so he is probably going and turning it up all the time! I guess he is working from home and then going to Madison.

Cramps my style...maybe I WILL go and visit MXM today and then shop the Pig in her town! LOL! I am pretty sure her house is the one of which I have had house/location envy. We will see....

If you go to the link below in my siggy there is a thread to the bash EL. Essentially we all get together at a camp near Clintonville and have a weekend party! I think all the info is there. The camp costs $80 for the weekend and everyone chips in. There is even a bunk house to sleep in if you dont have camping gear!

So Bigfam were the girls mauled to the death??? I keep thinking you are going to say...I am hoping that they arent too bad. The first ones are always the hardest to lose. Not saying it ever becomes easy to lose one but it's never as bad as the first!

H&R--maybe you just have one that is laying a soft shelled or weak shelled egg? I have reached into a nest lately and there has been an egg that is either broken under a hen or breaks when I roll them all out. THat could account for the yolk stained one. Hopefully that is it and you dont have to figure out the "eater." I wonder if the baking soda trick actually works? Cind, did the birds eat the soda instead or what?

The chicks in the TV were out of food and water this morning...yup, time for them to move into bigger digs!
Heading out for chores soon...I think I am going to run to the vet today too. My JRT doesnt seem to be feeling real well lately....it's always something!
