Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Nice blossoms fm and neat lawn ornaments! The plum trees here are in full bloom and the flowering crabs are now coming on. The rain tomorrow will finalize it. Worked in the garden again it's getting there. Came in for another late lunch and just about asleep in the chair with Bob on my lap and the phone rang. It was my cousins husband, says the morels are poppin. He got 9 lbs yesterday on a short foray. So Sat. AM I'll be combing the SW hillsides hunting for the highly prized fungus. On a bad year I've seen them go for $22/lb. Glad I got up today, I learned something. Never rake up more than one sod pile at a time, you'll be doing it all over again. Brownie is still the best gardener but a bit impatient she's digging it out of my hands before I can even look through it. After I pushed her away several times she hid a nice wet present for me to find.

Great ornaments and blooms FM! I have that same bush and it took me 5 years to find out what it was called! Ours is very old and was dying in the center so I have been trimming right after flowering for a few years and this year it was gorgeous! The rain pretty much took care of it, the plums and the pear trees. We must be a little ahead of you guys in the North. I have a bit of whimsy in my gardens too...I will have to take some pics. Did you make the birdhouse? I have a couple like that that I made, adding pinecones and grapevine for decoration. I have to do more because over the years they tend to rot to nothing!
That add on Craig's must have been good...I tried to see it and it was already deleted!
It is really warm here today but super windy! I am not a fan of the wind. It is just too hard to do anything constructive. My salad garden is up about an inch now! I am so excited...I got a bunch of plants from my daughter's horticulture class yesterday. More to plant but they are not hardened off yet. (and my veggie garden is not totally tilled up either)
Still no news on Stuart...thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. They are appreciated for sure! I just hate thinking of him lost...makes me cry. I just have to think that he is having the GREATEST adventure ever...
Well, DH just got home form out of town...guess I should get off of here and do something. I just sat down for a minute Honey, really!

Have a great night everyone...hey I think I heard a little roo crow from the basement today! I better go and see how old they are supposed to be...I thought I had a few weeks to build an outside enclosure yet! Terrri O

Evening to All...Wow what it difference it makes living farther south in the state. The weather man said you guys were warm near 80 today, while we were windy and frickin freezen here today!

Terri..good luck with Stuart....I hope that he's safe, and returns home...

BBCB...hope the job hunt turns out in your favor soon. Keep the faith, I know something good will happen for you.

Anyone heading out for the fishing opener? Sometime I do, however I might be a few days late this year before the boat gets wet. Time will tell...ya just never know for sure if the itch will make it happen or not?

Well we have 2 chicks hatched and the 3rd one has drilled a small hole-probably will get out tonight when we are asleep

eggs 4 and 5 haven't pipped yet but we can't see the underside. DD(10) says we should add a mirror so we can see better!

Wind died down here tonight and was actually nice to be outside, hopefully the storms won't be to bad-our oldest dog has problems with thunder and lightening and makes sure we know it-seems to have gotten worse with age-he gets benadryl and will take the pills without even having to hide them in peanut butter.

Well back to bator TV, it's right up there with turkey TV

Where is everyone??? It just rained here. Nice storm came in with some thunder and lightning and in 20 minutes, it's gone. Really warm out there, too.

we didn't rain here but it is very nice so far today. This is the first time that I have sat down to look at the computer-it's been a busy morning here- we have 3 chicks hatched and 1 egg working on hatching and can't tell what the 5th egg is doing

post office called and our DD's Andalusian eggs are here-very nicely packed and 18 eggs total so they will go in once this hatch is finished and incubator is cleaned and stablized.

I will as soon as they are out of the incubator

I just had to assist the 4th chick out as it pipped in the middle of the shell and was having problems- typically don't like to but we'll see- its fellow chicks are welcoming it now-by sitting on it!
