Awwwww, so sorry to hear Emmitt isn't feeling good, MLH. I hope it isn't anything serious. We've had quite enough animal drama around here!
How are your babies doing, Bf4?
DAS, that bird is even more handsome from the front.
Congrats on the hatch, Raim!
We took Ramses in for more bloodwork yesterday to see how the meds were doing. Things would be better if it was just the heart failure that we were dealing with, but since his kidneys are weakened too, it makes things much more complicated. There are other drugs that are better for treating his heart, as in more effective, but his kidneys are too weak to handle them. So we will be keeping him on the same drugs that he was already on, but they had to increase the dosage of 2 of them because fluid is starting to collect around his lungs again. Thankfully it wasn't enough to warrant having to be drained again. Poor guy has enough bald spots on him already.
But the vets all thought he was a very calm, well behaved boy again, so that's a good thing. And so far he is continuing to be very good at taking his meds, even the shots. Hopefully he will prove them wrong and be around for a long time.
I just wanted to thank you all again for all your well wishes and support.
It is very much appreciated. It's almost hard to believe such small critters can stir up such huge emotions......
Today was another long day. At least I got the coop cleaned out. I also let the lavender kids run around with the biddies and the teens. Oh, I forgot to tell you. On Sunday, DH expanded our run again this year. With all the new arrivals, they are going to need the extra space. He doubled it in size from 30x30' to 30x60'. It is so nice! They have more grass again! Unfortunately, my flowers that were planted in there were naturally the very first thing to feel the wrath of chicken claws. The dandelions they don't touch: my flowers, on the other hand.........
Why was it that it had to be windier than all heck & looking like it was going to pour any second all day long until I went to go lock the chickens up?????? Then it was sunny, not a cloud in the sky and NO wind!!!!
And tomorrow it's going to feel like winter again. I sure hope this rollercoaster weather will have moved on before the bash gets here.
Well, better stop procrastinating, again, and do my darn dishes.
Sweet dreams, all!
