Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Love the peas pictures! What color is this guy and can you show a front side shot;)
Saw the picture of your red golden, do you notice if your peas like to follow it around? Our 2 peas are always checking out our pair!

He's a bronze blackshoulder. Our peas and pheasants are raised together so most of the time they just ignore each other. Although I do have a yellow golden who loves to torment the bronze peacocks. Not sure why. This peacocks colors do not show up very well without sunlight. But he's the one in my avatar.

Our peas and pheasants were gotten fairly young and have lived together almost a year- still doesn't stop the peas from bothering them! Good thing the pheasants are fast. We have noticed with adding GEII to the aviary, he is much more relaxed than the one that escaped. That boy is very cool looking, if I had more room and was looking to add another this is the color I would get!

I got a chick hatching! lol
I gotta calabrate that hygrometer something seams off
I also have to get out the other bators. gotta get more eggs going.....
put some walls in upstairs today, what a pain! oh pictures hmmmm, I'll take upstairs pics when I get chick pics
later all

So I guess I will be warming up the incubator. going to trade hatching some Muscovy and Peking Ducks for a friend of mine for a couple hundred feet of qual line fencing, not sure if it is 8' or 6' feet high, but I am hoping i will make a nice flight pen! Another friend is going to get chukar eggs to add to the hatching so I will have some chukar to sell or trade...

Meat chickens, if it was not for the stink are starting to look delicious! They are just over a week and need to go into a bigger brooder. I am going to start removing their feed this weekend so I was thinking it would be a great time to transfer some birds.

Among my Blue Andalusians it is looking like I ended up with 2 black cockerels, 1 black pullet, and 2 blue pullets. Very flighty birds, but that is fine with me, I like to have favorites anyway.

On a side note, some of the eggs my friend bought were refrigerated, what is this going to do to fertillity rates?

MLH I hope you little dog feels better.... it looks like my Fonzie.

16 eggs on the nest, some down ripped out but NOBODY setting...... Ugh.

Not much going on here. Prom is next weekend so trying to track down a dress my DD would like. Thank goodness she has a good eye and keep her dresses tasteful instead of looking like a two bit tramp.... if any of you have the time, just do a little google search on prom dresses and you will see what I am talking about.

Jim, to see the pups, you should tie a colored ribbon around their necks; one color for girls and one for boys.

Awwwww, so sorry to hear Emmitt isn't feeling good, MLH. I hope it isn't anything serious. We've had quite enough animal drama around here!

How are your babies doing, Bf4?

DAS, that bird is even more handsome from the front.

Congrats on the hatch, Raim!

We took Ramses in for more bloodwork yesterday to see how the meds were doing. Things would be better if it was just the heart failure that we were dealing with, but since his kidneys are weakened too, it makes things much more complicated. There are other drugs that are better for treating his heart, as in more effective, but his kidneys are too weak to handle them. So we will be keeping him on the same drugs that he was already on, but they had to increase the dosage of 2 of them because fluid is starting to collect around his lungs again. Thankfully it wasn't enough to warrant having to be drained again. Poor guy has enough bald spots on him already.

But the vets all thought he was a very calm, well behaved boy again, so that's a good thing. And so far he is continuing to be very good at taking his meds, even the shots. Hopefully he will prove them wrong and be around for a long time.

I just wanted to thank you all again for all your well wishes and support.

It is very much appreciated. It's almost hard to believe such small critters can stir up such huge emotions......

Today was another long day. At least I got the coop cleaned out. I also let the lavender kids run around with the biddies and the teens. Oh, I forgot to tell you. On Sunday, DH expanded our run again this year. With all the new arrivals, they are going to need the extra space. He doubled it in size from 30x30' to 30x60'. It is so nice! They have more grass again! Unfortunately, my flowers that were planted in there were naturally the very first thing to feel the wrath of chicken claws. The dandelions they don't touch: my flowers, on the other hand.........

Why was it that it had to be windier than all heck & looking like it was going to pour any second all day long until I went to go lock the chickens up?????? Then it was sunny, not a cloud in the sky and NO wind!!!!

And tomorrow it's going to feel like winter again. I sure hope this rollercoaster weather will have moved on before the bash gets here.

Well, better stop procrastinating, again, and do my darn dishes.

Sweet dreams, all!

Good evening--got home late from looking at horses with Carol. I will post a couple pics tomorrow.. Too tired right now and I have to go out and lock up yet! I too am tired of this hot then cold weather! I just want to get the winter clothing out away so I can stop living out of bins and totes!

MLH-your little E sure is a cutie! I hope he just has a touch of "doggie flu" and is better soon! BIgfam, the report of the little baby made me really sad. How terrible it must have been to see him and know he was gone...and to have to deliver him too! AACK--what pain!

Man I must be really tired...I cant remember what else I wanted to write...it was something to Angiebubs...HMMMM...guess it is gone! Maybe I will remember it tomorrow!
Gotta go out...then sleep! Sweet dreams all! Terri O

Goats... Bucks..very stinky... They pee on their own head! I guess Terri's buck must be a metrosexual buck... Cares about his appearance and smell. Otherwise he'd be peeing on his head too and smelling to high heaven!
