Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

well i think i finally have a broody hen she has been sitting for the 2nd day today ...... cant wait to see what she is stilling on lol

amyable i will have to ask my gma what it is she feeds her dog every day but the tics dont like it and she has never found one on her dog except for one crawling on the fur.... i want to say it is a garlic tablet and some other herb or natural thing ... when they try to bite the dog they dont like the taste of the flesh due to the tabs.......gma lives on 27 acres of woods and has used this for yrs as she is in a wheel chair and cannot always check the dog so her helpers do it now and they have not found any on her .....

bigzio those babies are too cute

have a great night

There were so many pages to read that I cant remember all the replies that I had formulated in my mind! Welcome Suzyq! I love the looks of those Java chicks! THey kind of remind me of the Anconas when they were little. H&R...there has to be something that you are doing there...all the chicks that you hatched for me are just fine! I am putting them outside this week I believe. They are even getting too big for their new inside coop! They will just have to deal with the bigger ones!
I was at the racedtrack on Sunday for Bargain Fair and picked up a Barred Rock roo that has feathered feet! Anybody have any idea what he might be mixed with? I carried him around for an hour and he was totally content! Gonna call the prev. owner and we are getting together to ride our horses next week. What a nice woman--will be telling her about BYC for sure!
Well I just tried to put up a pick of the chicks and of Stuart and Manny...no luck--the computer says that the camera wizard died of something, guess I will have to wait until DH gets home again. Technology is a drag when it doesnt work properly!
Good night! TErri O

The two eggs with the broken air cells look like they were scrambled on the way here!

Annarie, there was an add on craigslist for 3 call duck drakes.... not sure what you have at your house but I think somehow at the BigZio bash we will be able to get a few pairs sorted out!

Hoping all three babies hatch!

Made Violet jelly today; I was inspired by a post on here and just had to try making some! I also managed to make a rhubarb cake since the rhubarb is looking pretty nice. I found a yummy recipe for a scratch cake with the cinn-sugar topping. Yummy! Looking forward to weeding out the flower beds tomorrow..... NOT!

BL4 please send me the recipe for the scratch cake and cin/sugar topping. I use a BC dinette cake that's really good but that topping sounds really really good. How many more days on the duckies? KAQ hope your broody stays that way. I eat a lot of garlic but maybe will start taking the tabs too. One of these times gonna get a bad tick, know people that have had Lymes, not a fun ride! TO sounds like you have a new friend

Oh suzyq it's too late for you! Your one of us now. My new babies will be here either Tues. or early Wed. too. Won't mind that early morning phone call. So far retirement just seems like a long weekend think it's because I'm doing all the stuff that I would do on a long weekend. Upward and outward!

Hi everyone! Hello to everyone new too! What a week, so very busy and not enough hours in the week. I started my summer semester of school last week and it's hard! I've missed so much on here.

This is way more important than school.

I want to share some pics. They all look so cute on the deck together. Every morning Bruno comes up now looking for left over dog food. Very cute and look at this egg that my girls layed. I've never seen one so speckled. Almost to pretty to eat. Have a good day everyone!

Oh Becky those pics are way too cute, talk about harmony! Thank you BL4 for typing out the lengthy recipe! I was reading down through it and kept going Ooo ya and then Ooo ya, that's definitley a keeper! Thanks! My rhubarb needs more cow poo will head down to the nieghbors to add some soon. I transplanted it a couple years ago but think the soil is too sandy. We get enough out of it but not soon enough for my liking. It freezes really well for winter use. Got the wood shed raked out and cleaned up around it, the new section of garden tilled for the last time, and put the blade back on the tractor to get it out of the way to haul the junk behind the shed for recycling. Plus pushed the manure back into a pile from the mongolian invasion. Hey I don't need to go to the nieghbors. I love it when a plan comes together. It's comin around. The new blade works really well! BBCB where are you? OH my stars my Linda's gone to mars.....

Hey Doc, I'd love to be there with you...I'm in the middle of the job search and things are definitely looking up! I'm working more hours at my part-time job and I've got some great interviews coming up. I'll get you all up to speed tomorrow, in the meantime everyone, enjoy!
