Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Jim, TO, do either of you have young goslings???? What are the ages of your goslings and how many you can you part with? I am looking for 4-6, and the younger the better.

Thanks!!!!!!

Ok... Quick check in!

Mazo... I take no credit for the goats. That's AAAALLLLL YOU! I'm really sorry about the ducks. To go from 12 viable eggs to one chick is horrendous! Enjoy our goats for as long you can. They are funny! Have your little girl race them. Goat racing is pretty funny over here. The goats run behind the kids for fun, catch up to the kids to see them sweat, then do a little goatie jump and smoke 'em! Funny sh!t

Went running to Madison today, picked up blue prints for the hubby. ( he s a self employed roofer. ANYONE down here need a roof, let us bid on it. It's a fine line between self employed and unemployed, and we're not on the good side of that line right now...) Anyhoo...

Last soccer practice fr the 8 yr old, and the 13 yr old has a tennis meet tonight. Of course they are virtually at the same time in two different towns... Grrrreat!

Better go...

Just checking in...went and got the chicks...they are having fun in the brooder. They are quite content...making little contented peepy noises.

Soooo....I have a question for y'all.....I'm looking for a "T" post for laundry. Long Long story on why I have just one but I'm trying to find a good metal laundry "T" post. I found one looking on the net but the reviews are awful. I then went to the local hardware store and they had the one from the internet and could order another type. Both are made in China and very cheaply made. So, does any one know where I can get a decent "old fashioned" type quality made laundry post?
y not use a tree?
this is what we have <---- click
I would get some of these too ur gonna need them lol
I LOVE my clothesline. my MIL had one so I bought one when we moved here then I inherited hers too lol

goaties are too cute! besides I never had goat meat?
BF4M, when goat racing do you let the goats out of the fence or do you have a HUGE area fenced in for them? My goaties NEED more room. Now that the ground isn't frozen we're gonna move their fence

washers done, gotta hang out more sleeping bags

Good evening! I have been keeping up but wanted to get some picks of my new acquisition before telling about him and I just have had so much going on here since my last post...OK CAROL...here it is: i BOUGHT A NEW HORSE! Yes, even though DH said I better not bid on any horses at the auction (that Carol the master enabler) said I MUST attend, I did buy one because of FATE! And when FATE tells me to buy--I listen! ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) Really though...he started at $2,000 went down to $200 and I was the ONLY one to bid! I rode him and he is a dream! Here he is!

He is a 16.1 hand Tennessee Walker. I may ride him again tonight...my legs are feeling better...no time like the present to get thrown again right? LOL---yeah I am just kidding...really!

Anyhow...I have been enjoying reading about everyone's adventures! I have been breaking chicks out of eggs because for some reason ALL of my chicks for the MD hatch are shrink wrapped! They are so stuck! I think I will turn the fan off so there is not so much air blowing around...maybe that will work? Got some nice chicks so far though....

Gotta run DD26 just got home and I want to talk to her before she goes and plays her 2 volley ball leagues. DH is in Green Bay for the week so I get to get ready for the bash MYSELF, not that he would really help but...I sure hope the trailer has what we need! LOL! We are planning on leaving when he gets back around noon on Friday...glad he doesnt mind driving!
Later guys! Terri O

I had a couple of replies...maybe later--cant remember!

Hi folks,

smoked a turkey this afternoon but went to do the plant swap and lost the charcoal/heat,,now in the oven to finish off, but dang it smells good

MLH, 2 words "welding shop",,,,get what you want, even with steel high priced it will outlast you and think of all the free rinses!

had Little Jerry in lock-down pen,,,got out in an hour but did behave all day with the young birds

I decided to try and do a hatch with the Wheaton Ameruacana, will move her into an kennel tonight with some fake eggs, ordered some eggs to hatch, if she sticks until they get here good,,,,if not then into the incubator.....in any event I'll watch her close

My next 24 BCMs will be hatching on the 28th these 2 groups I will try to integrate in the brooder shack,,hopefully

then on to Freedom Rangers, saw on my pasture poultry group a good cool weather brooder idea for young birds get them on grass at 2 weeks if interested ask me at the bash

bbl,,,need to check the "bird" and close the gh

nice looking horse Terri

The horse is a beauty. needs fattenin. jimho Goats love bark. I have some blk bamtam cochins, black 5mth silkie pair, and trio wh sq bantam leghorns and mutlys too.

I got twin goat bucklings today! They are 50% saanen, 25% Alpine, 25% Nubian. One is pure white. The kids just love them.
My horse had his first day with the trainer. She said he rode great. Tomorrow the go on a trail ride. She did a rough measurement and hes at least 16.3 HH. Big boy!
I kept all my birds locked up today so the hawk picked off my call duck that was on a nest! I can't win.

The verdict is in: we are pretty certain the cat has cancer. We had several options to choose from: doing a needle aspiration via ultrasound, or exploratory surgery to determine what the mass is and what is causing the liver issues, or the conservative route of just medication until he no longer shows improvement. I chose the medication route; he is almost 15 and has lost over half his body weight and in his condition I do not think he would tolerate anesthesia well. So we are keeping him home and medicating him until it is time to put him down. The kids are sad but they understand..... well except the youngest, he is killing me with his crying. Actually it is more like sobbing and just plain making everyone miserable.

At least the soap turned out; it looks like a weird purple-blue color right now..... I wonder what the end result will be? Alkanet root will change color with the pH of the soap, sort of like built in litmus paper.

Nice horse TO!

Kim, alas I'm too new at this to be able to comment! Your hypothesis seems quite reasonable if you're using a medication for the birds that kills the mite eggs as well as the mites. So the little beastie eggs are not just incubating for three weeks then hatching out a whole new generation.

Really lovely mother's day as my brother, sissy-in-law and 2 nephews are in town and staying at our house for three days. They live in Seattle so we're lucky if we get to see them once a year much less have them stay with us. Took the sting off the bad news I have...

The Andalusian who knocked herself stupid passed away yesterday morning. What are you going to do? We made sure our 5 year old girl saw her and understood what had happened and we buried her together. My brother's fam has 4 chickies themselves and when he saw it night before last he said, "You know, Marg. That is one illin' chicken and I don't think you're doing that one any favors." He summed it up with referring to the situation as "it is what it is". I decided it would indeed be best to put it out of it's misery after 48 hours if it didn't improve. Poor dear saved us the trouble. Really a stroke of kismet that John was here.

The nephews, 8 and 14, my 5 year old girl and sissy-in-law, Christine and I piled over to Terri's house yesterday because I had garden daisy's for her that threaten to take over our garden yearly yet she can''t get them to grow to save her life. We had a flipping blast!

Natch. No I'm not going to blow her surprisey surprise either. It's a lovely one. Christine thought the trip was pure awesomeness for her Seattle city boys, not to mention herself. And let's face it, I quite adore visiting TO too
smile.png

Then today as The Seattle contingent and the girl and I were scrambling out the door to grab lunch with grandpa in Milwaukee, Hens & Roos shows up! Hubby had arranged a visit with them and told me about ten minutes before! ha ha! Now he has a new tiller now thanks to Cheryl and Doug! And you better believe he's already been out in the veggie garden tilling to his heart's content

Only truly huge bummer was I couldn't stay and chat...
tongue.gif
Stupid timing! Hopefully there will be plenty of that at the Bash

BabyLady, I'd like to place an order for your lavender soap please! I'm thrilled! And I have indeed pondered interpretations of chicken art for fingernails...

Must do SOMETHING silly and fun for the bash, right?
