Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thanks.

I think Maggie is a Piebald color. She used to be much grayer when she was younger, as she has gotten older she has gotten whiter. You let me know when you need babies! Taffy has 10 eggs under her right now!!!

YAY Bash 2013!!!!!

BL- Two words about yoinking those weeds. POISON.
tongue.gif
IVY.
ep.gif
I got it while yoinking weeds last week. It showed up on my arms Fri morning and I recognized it yesterday morning not as spider bites but the dread poison ivy.
rant.gif
My Poison Ivy must be hiding in amoungst the Nightshade vines & wild raspberry that reclaim my garden in a hurry if I'm not vigilant. It's on my arms and legs and side. I seem to recall standing, gloved hand on waist at some point.
So be on the lookout for those doodypants leaves of three!

Will be settling into an Aveeno bath tonight and another round of Benadryl before bed. I'm just super happy it's not really nasty. Anyone else have a remedy to share?

OOPs.... I know someone mentioned poison ivy before and I was going to bring along an herbal wash for it... sorry
hide.gif
Maybe if I reacted to it I would have remembered it.

Here are a few things that might help. Use some, or use all. Make a infusion (simmer for 10 - 15 min.) and dab on rash.

Sassafras root bark
Grindella leaf and flower
lobelia
mugwort
Solamon's Seal
sweet fern
jewelweed (fresh and rubbed on directly)
*menthol
*Witch Hazel
*Add when cooled

Good luck

Thanks MxM! I am HIGHLY ALLERGIC to Poison Ivy, so I have learned to recognize it everywhere it lurks..... it is even at the lovely camp we stayed at. I usually end up on Prednisone when I have it.

When I was dating my DH he hit a buck driving me home one night. I thought I would save one of the antler prongs as a souvenir. Little did I know that deer like to roll in Poison Ivy.... I ended up with it all over my face and neck. One eye swelled shut and I had Mick Jagger lips..... BAD BAD BAD! I am amazed I am not all scarred up from that little bout! On top of that we had Homecoming the next Saturday!

Anyone who took the Lavender soap and the shampoo, it will not be ready for use until the end of June.

Bad business with the cat...... I hate making decisions like this. Poor baby was down to 7.14 lbs.... he once weighed in at 19. All the kids were bawling when I talked to them before taking him in, and then again after we came home without him. I chickened out and could not stay with him.... I would have been a sobbing mess. As it is now, I look like I had a collagen injection in both upper eyelids and I am related to Rudolph.

Made a campfire tonight so the kids could make s'mores. Wanted to let them do something fun on such a sad day.

Vicki, so, so terribly sorry to hear about your BFF. That is so sad.

mxm, I too couldn't believe I didn't take any pics either.

I would have loved one of DH & Tommy taking a ride.
lau.gif
Too much chatting & distractions to remember a camera. Love your chickie pics. Your girls look quite content. You could always call your PR Ginger? Hope your poison ivy rash is gone soon!

Bl4, you definitely need to take off work & stay the entire weekend. You are simply too much fun. And I think next year you'll have to bring 3 jars of cherries. I didn't even get to sample one single cherry! Didn't get any of the vodka juice either, for that matter. TO had polished that off in nothing flat.
ep.gif
With Tommy's help, of course. Tommy got to try more of them than I did.

Sorry to hear about the last call baby and Squirrel.

The call siblings sure were awful cute!

Tom, all I gotta say is
tongue.gif

Cind, that's cool about your new guinea additions! And I'm super envious & in awe of your extreme knowledge of plants.

Mazo, sorry to hear about your EE.

Jim, I am so sorry. I have your chick feeder.
hide.gif
I can't believe I forgot to give it back to you. I'm feeling like an @ss. You'll have to e-mail me your address. Maybe we can drop it off the next time we head up north. So sorry! And what is up with the "one set of blisters"? Aren't you funny. I get one set of blisters practically on an hourly basis. Suck it up, you soap-stealer!

Ang, oh no! I hope your kitty is home safe soon.

Twizz, so sorry about the coyote attack, but at least it was roos and not your fav hens, like it usually is.

Bigz, that veni sausage was sooooo good! You must thank Suzie & Jennie for dropping off that box. It fit absolutely perfectly, and I could still open the door too. Sorry those chicks of Bigfam's made such a mess.

Raim, sorry to hear about your DD. She did look awfully pale and borderline miserable on Sunday morning. I am so glad she is feeling better. I'm glad you had Terri & Derrick over your shoulder for the ride home. They are wonderful people, as are all of you on the Cheesie thread! We had such a good time this weekend. Just wish it didn't go by so fast, and that more people could have made it. I also wish I could have talked to some of you more. Sorry if I missed anyone. I'm really sorry we didn't help clean up more. We had to get the behemoth back before it turned into a pumpkin.
wink.png
It was super fun trying to find a place to wash it all down inside & out before returning it. And guess what we found while cleaning it out? A rotten baked potato in the oven!
ep.gif
Oh, that was lovely! I guess they don't inspect their vehicles as well as they say they do. Oh, and they forgot to tell us where the gas cap was. DH had to crawl around underneath to find the gas tank. I'm just glad those were the only issues we had with that beast. A pop-up is starting to look really nice.

So where the heck are ya, Frenchie? Still fixing that fence? Or in jail for causing great bodily harm to your DH?

So, so terribly sorry! I know that pain all too well. I wish I had words that would help. Hugs to you and your family.

BL4-I'm sorry to hear about your cat....
hugs.gif
It's a hard decision but in the end it's the kindest act of love we can give a beloved pet....My thoughts are with you and your family...

BigZ- I knew there was a reason I bought a two year pocket calendar filled with rooster pictures! It was so I could mark down next years Bash and have the whole year to wait.....and wait......and wait......LOL!!

So tonight I went to a Chicken 101 seminar given at the Milton Library by a nice lady from the Wisconsin Farm Bureau. While I knew most of items she went over there were a few things I learned. It's always nice to keep learning.

Other then that, everyone is fine here! I have some pics from the Bash to post but I have to get the camera from the car and I'm in my jammies so I'll post them tomorrow.
