Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good late Morning Again! 11pages of reading to catch up on, ain't happenin. Just got back from the dentist now have to go out put back some of the weed barrier. Hope I didn't lose too many plants! 50mph gusts yesterday, didn't have enough bricks on it. Finally got the coop cleaned and hay added. Everyone is out of straw. It's that time of year. Gonna have to do a head count today. There was a hen on top of the coop this morning.

Good morning everyone. Well DH is home for 4 days for the holiday boy this is going to be fun. I love the man to death but boy he's good at agrivating me. We had another tree come down from the storm that came thru, he's out there now cutting it up. I got my gorcery shopping done this morning, now I guess I better clean. ugh I hope every one has a good day.

Nice cool Morning up Nort !!! LOVE it !!!!

Well, I've know for a long time now that God doesn't want me and the Devil won't take me but they are really battling it out this week !!!!! LOL

On top of my huge water blister that is healing but far from gone I've been in tons more pain too......... Must be the week for it hey Raim.

As I was loading the van with laundry my knee pressed into it (just barely) and it was trying to bend in backwards !!! LOL OUCH !!!! Didn't't hear a pop or anything but I could barely stand. Didn' know what the H3LL to do. I couldn't even lift it to get on the ATV, good thing I'm tall and I was able to just slide my butt up onto it. I thought for sure I was going to have to go to the ER. About an hour or so later it settled down and I was able to walk gently on it.
But before that even happened while I went out to let the pigs out, water the trees and ducks I was on DH's ATV at the top of the hill. Well when I got back on it and started it up it started to roll backwards. His hand brake doesn't work on the left side which is where the shift is and I get all balled up cause I always brake with the left on mine. His right brake barely works !!!!! So anyway I started rolling real fast (his machine rolls easier and faster then mine for some reason, I must have some baling twine or something caught somewhere LOL) and then I must have thought I had it in 1st gear but didn't. I hit the gas hard expecting a big jerk as it would go forward. Well NOT, it was still in Neutral and away I went full speed backwards and hit the chicken coop !!!
Geez !!!!!! I thought for sure I did major damage, nope just hit the door and the lower hinge and screws popped off. DH does build like a brick Sh!t house.
I'm lucky the coop was there otherwise I would have been going through the horse fence, through the pasture and through the horse fence again and then hit the trees !!!! LOL
Told ya the Devil don't want me !!!

THEN we go out to dinner on Wednesday for an AYCE fish fry at a very popular place (will not mention to protect their good reputation) Had an awesome fish fry, soup, mashed tators, etc.
DH had the same except he had fries.
Anyway we got home and within an hour from leaving the restaurant I was watching my show Revenge and the urge hit me. I needed to get the the bathroom, and NOW, well never mind by the time I got there it was too late !!!!! Not meaning to get to personal here but that is not me, EVER...... Hubby on the other hand is a different story !!!! I never get the Craps !!!! Until that night and boy oh boy......... And no comment Dr Ha about being full of it !!!! lol
DH never came in the house once we got home from the restaurant, he sometimes lays back in the car seat and "rests" then stayed out to feed the animal. I went outside to tell him I was headed for bed and he said he had been outside puking his guts out. Of course he hadn't locked up the pigs yet so when I asked where they were he said..... Well, I think you know where the pigs were !!!!!!! GROSS !!!

Anyway, does anyone know how fast food poisoning takes. If was just real strange that we both got sick within an hour of leaving the restaurant but me on one end and him on the other ??????
Weird. Guess the Devil don't want him either !!! LOL

Now we both think we're getting colds. DH said it's because we sleep with the window open above the bed. I said don't be silly it's probably from your co-workers snotty kids. Not meaning snotty like Bigfam's (just kidding) but snotty like in kids are always getting sick.

So that's my story and I'm not sticking to it !!!!!!

Pasty butt. How long should it go on for? Is there anything you can do besides just cleaning it off?
My blue silkie with the big vaulted skull has horrible pasty butt. I swear I just cleaned her yesterday, but the poop ball mess was huge! It took like 15 min to soak and rub it off, poor thing! Any helpful ideas for me?
Hi Bigfam!
go to the diseases/emergencies-----page and you will find a thread right next to the top. Unfortunately, it is my thread butt

it is loaded with help & info about what to do for pasty butt. Been battling it for quite a while but my 'rescue" hen had it for who knows how long before I got her. I am fairly convinced that if caught early the ACV treatment will take care of it (info passed on to me in a pm by someone who consulted their vet). Good luck and have a great holiday!

Do you folks think it's to early to put 3 week old chickens out in the coop at this point of the season? They have most of their feathers. Also at night do you generally keep the food and water in the run and the interior of the sleeping coop free of food and water?

Thanks

I kicked my chicks out at 2 1/2 weeks to the coop back in March, yours will be fine. At first I kept food and water 24/7 out for them and it got moved to inside the coop at night, now they are all 12 weeks old and I only leave them water inside.

Does anyone else here feed Kent MultiFlock? I payed almost $19 for a bag today! I may just as well buy soy free organic feed (which contains crabmeal and fishmeal) for the extra $2.

Also, I dont keep water in my coop because I have ducks. They just play in it till its all on the floor. Messy little buggers but I sure love them.

Good Fish Fry Friday To All...we love the fish and ho-made fries at home....cause it's always perfection...the slaw is to die for! Sorry you had a bad meal...prolly tarter sauce that wasen't fresh, I'm thinkin.

Folks do things different..so what works for you is always best. I keep the food and water inside the coop...stays better and the peeps eat often. I also have waterers outside for the free range birds in the shade for a drink when they walk by.

Yep,we had a nice rain last night too. Not alot, but a huge help.

Special thanks to the veterans this Memorial Weekend, not only for fighting to keep us free, but willing to lay down your life your others..the ultimate payment.

No Do Overs for the bash...simply come every year and improve the results. I'm still trying....glad I'm not alone CC!
