yup storms all night rolling around, 1" of great rain again

fun factoid,,,I learned a few yrs ago that when these fronts move across the plains and then dump on us we can get up to a 6% nitrogen bump from the dust that gets into the atmosphere that is then charged by the static electricity,,,,a hidden bonus that helps create the greening we'll see in a few days....sooo

Checked on baby duckie this morning.... he had two big blisters in the webbing of his foot, and one has now popped. The fluid coming out is clear,... I am hoping the vet wrap was not on too tight. He is much friendlier to us though, since we keep holding him to keep him still.

We had a lot of booms and some rain.... not the big booming type of thunderstorm we all love though. We were out trying to take pics of the lightning; NOT easy to do but my oldest DD managed to get some decent shots. I'll try to get some up here later.

Just saw my 12 wk old Birchen Marans roo do "the drill" on one of the BSL hens,,,he is the biggest in that bunch but didn't think it would start this early. Need to get a pen setup for the roosters, just what I needed on the list,,,lol

Well, I am starting to love one of my chicks. He is probably a month old, and such a sweetie I was just sitting on the couch watching T.V. with him(Yes, I do keep chicks in the house until they go out with the rest of the flock xD) and he was so content, he fell asleep on my lap. So, I'm going to spam you guys with pics of him/her. Not sure if it is a pure or mix silkie, or if it's a silkie at all xD

That is him less than half an hour ago. He is so cute! I'm pretty sure he's a silkie, because he has black skin and the extra toe. Maybe a frizzle? I haven't a clue. Just thought I'd share

twizzle... it is so cute!!!! I belive it would be labeled as a sizzle ( frizzle silkie) but not sure it is pure because it is a different color than I am used to. Could be though...whatever she is... she is cute.

I love the mohawk at this age. I have 2 blue silkies and one has a blue mohawk and one has a black one. So cute.

Well went out to dinner with my best friend, my inlaws and Dh and the kids to Ginza of tokyo... it is a japanese steakhouse where they hibachi right in front of you. Kids had a blast. Once the cook saw how much ds5 loved the fire, he made sure there was lots of things he set on fire. lol. probably not good to teach him that fire is fun, but is was yummy. Today my bestie is coming over with her family for a cookout. What a lovely birthday weekend. Hope the weather will be nicer tomorrow so I can get some more weeding done. Got some done yesterday since my shovels are not breaking after the rain! Enjoy the weekend

Yep Twizzle... That looks like a frizzle! How adorable!

Not much going on here. (well there is ALWAYS a lot going on here, but nothing newsworthy!) I really like the duckling I hatched out. I was right that the Aussie Dot would be perfect for our family. So I'm giving it one more try. I ordered eggs. (I swear I just posted on here I wasn't hatching anymore things!)

I do have 11 silkies in the Bator still. I will lockdown sometime this week. (I'm getting as bad as Jim now!) I don't even know what to hope for. I think I might just put one more hole in the hatcher for little more circulation. I really just want one buff silkie to hatch because thats the kind the oldest picked. But his heart really seems to be with the ducks. Kinda funny! When we were watching them paddling around in their litte bucket he says "Mom, I really love our crazy mixed up life with all these different animals." I must be doing something right.

Wow--I finally caught up! Having my last cuppa and then out to make sure all is well. DD20 was out early and fed and watered soI just have to check...sometimes stuff gets missed. I am on a different puter; she tried to open a desktop pic on mine and the thing froze up! DH took a look at it and the hardrive is fried!

New computer too! So I guess it was just a coincidence that it happened when she was on it...I am glad for that cause I always get blamed for "not taking care of your stuff" yeah...DH didnt say a word to her--I might bring that up.....if I feel like a fight! LOL!

SO they are at the gym doing the PX90 work out again....sh!t, I have enough work here that they could do and get sweaty! A gym work out doesnt really help the muscles that you NEED in you daily life!

Sorry to hear of the bad days happening...no thanks! Bigfam, you are getting pretty artsy with your pics! Gonna have to start calling you Amy. (I love it) That Frizzle (twizzle) Is way adorable!

Ahhhh.....finally all caught up! Too much to remember and report on!

Happy Memorial Day weekend and a HUGE Thank you to all of our terrific and much beloved veterans out there! Hug to you all!!!

Got a nice rain storm Friday night and it was much needed. All the new plants in flower bed were very happy to get a good soak. They all perked right up!

Ummm...lets see oh yes, as I stated the other night I got the flower bed planted but needed to finish it off with mulch. So yesterday the DH and I went to Maynards and I got more mulch and a patio block stone thingy for the bird bath that I wanted to place in the flower bed. I also got a neat little cheap copper type rooster garden stake decoration as well. Then we went to a couple of other garden centers to try to find a specific type of apple tree I wanted. We found it at K&W and luckily the fruit trees were $10 off so that was not to bad. So I got my Courtland apple tree. I love Courtlands. They make the best apple to dehydrate and for pies....and too eat. I have two apple trees (a Honeycrisp and a Sweet 16) already and they should cross pollinate but if not I have room to plant another apple tree.

After we came back home, I got the flower bed all done with mulch and the patio stone and I planted some columbines and sea tuft around the patio stone. Kinda pretty. We'll see how they all do.
Then I took a quick shower to rinse of the dirt and then we went to see MIB 3. We enjoyed it very much! Will Smith cracks me up!

As far as this morning goes, I got the critters all taken care of but I need to check on the rabbits after I'm done here. It's hot out there and I'm sure they need their frozen tiles. I normally use frozen water bottles in their cages to cool them off but I got a tip about using frozen terra cotta tiles instead. So we will have to see how that goes.

I also got the bird bath scrubbed moved to it's new home. So other then I few finishing touches, here are some pics of the new flower bed! I have a gazing ball on order and that will go in the bed too.

I should have taken a picture at the very beginning, before I tore out the weeds but ah well, here is the pic after the weeds got taken out and DH tilled:
