Thanks everyone for the the thoughts and prayers! Seems to be a lot parental problems lately. He's doing better, they drained 12 lbs of fluid out of him and will hear about some test results this AM. Hope he learned his lesson and will listen to the Dr's now but I have my doubts. Should be putting the one car out by the road with a sign this morning. Hope it sells right away. Then on to cleaning L's car it's the cleanest of them all. Going to replant the lettuces and spinach and get the fence posts in. The girls got cut loose earlier than planned yesterday. The BFF came over and brought his 5 yr old with and she wanted to play with them. We had fun gathering eggs, feeding, and petting them. Things to do. Enjoy!

Glad to hear various parents are doing better. I am home now because my 7:00 man went to the hospital too yesterday. (man, must be the season?) My weekend relief woman found him--he had been down since 5 the previous night! Poor guy--we are going to go and see him today.
Kind of glad it is back to work today so I can REST! The yard is really shaping up though. Got the side gardens weeded so they almost look tame.

I have much to do yet though. Offer is still open for anyone to come and help!

Rhubarb torte almost finished baking in the oven, and a gallon of yogurt incubating. BBQ pork roast for dinner tonight with homemade onion bread! Have not decided if I should make rolls or not..... and I would like to pick up some asparagus to eat tonight as well.

I swear I need a cow; at the rate my family drinks milk and eats yogurt I could use a gallon and a half a day! Maybe a goat instead..... or a dexter cow?

Little duckie is still going strong! The kids and I go in and talk to it when I turn the eggs (I have the clears in there yet just to keep the temps steady).

Well, maybe I'll go jump on my bike and make the rounds. Torte is out and the day is beautiful! No calls yet on the job, but as they say a watched pot never boils.......

Good for you BBL4--keep active and they will call! Rhubarb torte sounds good...maybe I will go out and pick some too. I make this one that has cool whip, vanilla pudding and mini marshmallows. Wed loved it as kids and my kids love it too. I think I will scrap that idea--I'm just coming to your house for dinner! I'll bring the sweet potatoes...doncha just LOVE them with pork? Terri O

Dang it BL4 I just got done making huge batches of chili, chicken/noodle soup, and bread. I was just eyeballin my rhubarb yesterday. I have an idea lets do a meal swap you go to TO's I'll go to your house....... I've got a better idea lets all go to TO's!!!! Sounds easier to me. Wait she wants help..... I suppose if we have to. It's always a lot more fun doing someone elses work than your own. And the company is way better. Still haven't heard about Dad yet. Will call to see. The lettuces are replanted and the pepper plants are plotted out. All the remains on L's car is the outside. Going to water the new seeds and wash the car then fence posts then.....

The torte I made is a custard type with a meringue top. More like a pie baked into a cake pan.

Well, bad news with the job. I did not get it. What stinks is that the equipment I work with right now is so out of date there is no WAY I will get a decent job someplace else.

A frustrating situation on all ends.

Terri- you should wear gloves and your hands won't hurt as much. BL4 sorry about the job. Just wasn't ment to be, maybe better is on the way? Fingers crossed for you. Dr sorry to hear about your dad. Parents I tell ya, won't they ever listen?

I swear the roles reverse as we get older. BCC- sending prays to you and yours as well. Hope all is going well.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had my side of the family down on Sat, gave everyone horseback rides. Had nice weather too. Spent the whole day at DH's mom's house Sunday, his grandfather passed Sunday morning at 95. He went peacefully and without suffering. We are very greatful for that. He has been saying for the last 3years that all he wants to do is go be with his wife who passed 7 years ago. He's there now and I'm happy for him. I had been taking care of him every week for the past 7 months and for the last month that's all he talked about. So after a busy week last week, I have another busy one this week. Ahh is life. DH is busy at work so I told him that I'm not getting another job until I have too.

I saw his grandpa Tues and Wed and I'm going to take those days and catch up around here. He's ok with it for now. Well the suns out better go enjoy it. Take care all and give extra hugs to those you love.

Busy day here on the hill...finally got the potatoes and walla onion plants in. Tommorrow more planting and tilling. the weather is perfect for planting most stuff now. The soil isn't quite ready for winter squash yet. Another week of warm weather will make the best planting situation for them.

The coop is suppose to arrive tommorrow afternoon. I'm excited about that big time!

Fishing poles all ready to go and no time to use them...

Sure hope that is only a temporary problem...

You know, BL4 forgot to tell you that she took me to the best little store in Stevens Point today. Thanks, BL4! It was a great day!!!

Then I came home and made a bunch of VERY low sugar Strawberry/Rhubarb Jelly. Yum! Yum! And I have to make more of the "just low sugar" tomorrow. And maybe I'll even get to paint the bathroom too! Busy! Busy!


No. I just decided that I think I'll plant more in the garden and maybe get those flowers planted too.

They are also talking 80's!

Good Morning All !!! Bigz I'm actually going crappie fishin this morning with the BFF. Seems a little late with the weather but he's been out and hasn't done so well. So maybe. Just sat down with the first cup and heard a heck of racket outside. I went to the back door thinking Bob had gotten into something he couldn't handle. It turned out to be 2 coon vieing for the same sleeping spot in a tree next to the yard. Man what a racket. Bff has some extra pepper and mater plants so it's a start, have to go past the green house on way back from the lake so will stop and get the rest. The son of L's Bff has a track meet in Rapids later this afternoon going to try and make it to that. He just set a new school record in Wausau. Good kid! Still haven't gotten the results back on Dad. Better be today. fm What store was that? Vehicles are all done, now on to the garden then wood making. Got 8 eggs yesterday was thinking it was the weather but then thought about getting the lil ones. Wonder if that put them off. It was at the same time that they slowed way down on production.

Becky that is very common with old couples, when one passes the other wants to join them. Sorry for your loss! Just got my second looky lou at the car maybe it'll sell quick. Enjoy the day!
