I wonder if that poor baby I have will be able to be accepted into the group when they arrive since he relates to people so much.....

Oh well, can't do much about it I guess.

Good morning everyone and

to Gogo and HB!!! HB--since I seem to be the resident home for wayward and unwanted animals--if you do decide to rehome your hens they are welcome at my place! And the good news is that I live in Jefferson county!!! Send me a PM and we should get together for coffee since you are so close. I LOVE coffee...well, before NOON!

I picked up my turkey poults in Madison last night. Traded even up for some older goslings. THeir parents were NOT happy when I took them out!

Whew! I started this message at 8 this morning and finally came in to finish it! Sold 8 goslings today!

Less to feed this winter. This man loves them...he got them from me last year to grow out for the Holidays...thinking about doing some for us now too...Gee--maybe I should put the rabbits together too...

No Monty as of yet.

The county cut the edges of the road and I went to check 'cause if he was there...(HEY--what happened to the gagging Smiley???) OOPS--
sickbyc.gif
So it was good news that I didnt see him there but...he still is not safe and sound--going back out now to take another look around...

Got a girl coming today from the FFA auction--she will work for 8 hours...not all today~! Got a bunch for her to do! OK all--stay safe, sleep well, and may all your eggs hatch! Terri O

Thanks to all you former statesmen/women! Alaska is BEAYUTIFUL this time of year, the sunshines 'bout 14hrs a day, no cloud in the sky, & very few bugs, as it's still too cool for them, yet warm enough to be out in tee & shorts...
big_smile.png

I never raised chickens, or any animals other than a dog, & my cousins all lived on farms in North Central WI, & my father was a farmer & so was his father...So I guess my soiree into agriculture begins with chickens...my children will get the best of both worlds...my mother is Native Alaskan from a small Yupik village on the coast, & my father from WI...They'll be some seafood eatin' & huntin' country folk...

I sure do miss my friends & family from WI, but then again, I do count my many blessings of livin' in Rural Alaska...

BL4 don't you hate when a plan doesn't come together. I'm sure things will work out. gogo I've heard so many stories of people visiting there and not leaving. From what I've seen on the tube it is beautiful. Everyone here will help in any way we can to get you some real eggs. I think we should make you our Alaskan Cheesehead Ambasador. I think there's a sash you have to wear and a Point Beer deer hunting ball cap with the reversed ear flaps, I'll check on that. Pretty safe to say that we'll be your new friends. Good people here! TO you sure you didn't trade Monty for oh I dunno some warthogs?

Keep the faith he'll turn up! I'll do the vibe thing again, it worked last time! Was out playing with the lil ones and one flew up on the edge of the brooder. It begins. My lil ones are becoming daddys little girls.

They grow up so fast. BL4 you aren't the only one upset, my bread never rose. All that time and work. Making croutons out of it to go with the fresh lettuce that popped up after the sun hit it. Life hands you lemons make croutons. The beans are poppin too. I check every hour or less for new arrivals when I'm checkin the little girls. Have a great evening!!!!!

I am always so sad when I get to the last message....you guys are the BEST!

I have one parrot out and the other in the cage--they are sying funny things! SHe is trying to pick up the vines that are on the carpet. Pretty comical....
My help got a bunch of work done in 2 1/2 hours. The place is shaping up. I am taking a break and tipping a cold one before I go and finish planting the Geraniums. Now the girl parrot is walking around saying "hello?" Ha--the cat walked up to her and she bit at his tail!

Alaska sounds fabulous! (at this time of the year at least!) Lots of day/sunlight. I dont know what you do in the winter though---I think I would have to have some pretty good drugs...I can hardly stand a few cloudy days in a row here!

OK--I'd better git now--looks like rain might be coming in and I should get the plants in ( and the laundry down!) Goodnight again! Terrri O (sometimes I just feel so GOOD that I need 3 Rs in my name!)

Late Afternoon to All...BCC, glad you had a moment to visit. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Lazy day here kinda...went to town and did mom's windows....then off to fleet for more wire and stuff....then the grocery for stuff and almost noon till I made it home.

The last garden is on the major list for tommorrow now. It will be the winter squash, pickels, dill, beans, zuccini, and prolly some tomatoes. I always start way more than I need. Price of a seed, what the heck...

I have a extra corner that I think will be become a worm garden...Price of bait is just plain too much.

Enjoy this great day..... ~ bigzio

Three and a half inches of rain in an hour...... can we say minor flood? All the storm drains backed up, streets were flooded, and the moron neighbor kids were playing in the flooded streets. If we did not live on the main drag it would not be an issue but with cars driving by every few minutes it is a bit of a hazzard. Esp. when these kids lay down in the road.......

Glad I got the rest of my garden planted today! Bring on the sun!

Now if I could just find a baby duck......

WOW BL4 thasa lot o rain! One of early memories is of my step brother and I playing in backed up storm sewer water. Ma made us stand in the yard while she hosed us off. That water was COLD! We were mud head to toe. Boy that was fun! Bigz doesn't sound like a lazy day to me. A worm box has been on my mental list for a couple of years. Have the perfect box for it too. Just added it to the written list. Beautiful Morning! The peas are poppin through! And the bees are pollinating the black raspberries. Need a good crop this year. Should have grapes this year too. Out of home made jelly. BCC that's a lot of snow geese!

TO hope you can put 3 r's in your name a lot! Waiting for 4 more eggs to take to BFF's trading him some extra hand tools for some nice dry oak. Then down to good neighbor Donny's to borrow a cage for the little girls and drop off some extra mater plants for his wifes mother. Then home to remove about 4 cord of wood from the shed so I can mix it with some greener stuff. Then make croutons, do the dishes, fill in the driveway, put on the new well cover..... you know the song. Still mad about the bread. Enjoy your Day!

Good morning! Just havin' a cuppa before I go out to get those beans planted! I shoulda soaked 'em last night but with running through the raindrops to get the laundry down it slipped my mind. Oh well...it is still nearly a week early for me. Gotta remember that---now I dont feel behind all of you "overachievers" on here!

DrH--your girls would sure like that bread to eat themselves....just scrap it, buy the croutons and start another loaf...proof your yeast this time and make sure your salt goes in last if you use it! Also check the dates on your flour...sometimes it is the flour's fault too if it is too old...dont ask me how I know this!

This is what I found yesterday after noon when I went to check Stuart:

Now I know that I NEED to fix this...one more thing to do...

I have decided that I want to be a goat in my next life!

That is all for today--gotta go to work in town after I plant those beans! Have a fabulous day--man is it gorgeous out there!
