hi all, nice sunny day,eh? I worked on the choke cable and got it freed up.. then I went to F&F and picked up yet ANOTHER valve stem tool.. which I will lose in the garage with the other half dozen I own..

I also picked up a set of snap ring tools, also not my first ones..

took off the left front lawn mower tire.. It has been going flat for ever.. I finally decided to fix it once and for all.. I hope I am done with that for awhile..

then I mowed the weeds ,,whoops !! i meant the lawn.. I might go back out later and mow down around the garden.. If it seems cool enough, I might even hill the potatoes.. along about this time of the day, the garden should start to be shaded from the tall pines.. as long as the sun is not beating down on me, I can take the heat..
the grass is mostly broad leafed weeds in places, but very green and succulant..

the two grape vines keep coming back each year.. maybe this summer I should build a trellis or something.. or maybe a nice 3 person swing ?
that will have to wait until after I build new side racks for the small trailer.. I need someplace to store my feed where the F$%^&*g chipmunks can't eat holes in the sacks..

had two cockatiels hatch today.. just got rid of the last two babies, now we will have to convince some more of our relatives how much fun it is to have cockatiels..

bought collars for the two puppies.. it is time they learned a few commands.. especially "come"..

and they might as well learn how to be tied up when it becomes necessary..

OK , I wasted enough time.. better go do some of these things that I waited all winter for..

funny thing at F&F today.. a guy was buying a new handle for his SNOW RAKE !! I lol'd at him.. he took it well...

just a dumb question. Is there a Mills Fleet Farm AND a Blain's Farm & Fleet in Wausau? I know there were both when we lived in the burbs of Milwaukee and it drove me crazy

all the time trying to figure out which one they were talking about! Half the time the people I was talking to didn't know which one they were telling me about

Vic, usually..... when people type Fleet, they mean Mill's Fleet Farm. When they type F&F, they usually mean Blain's. But when people speak, all sense usually goes out the window. Usually.

But I could be completely wrong on this, like I usually am.

Fish Fry Friday To Everyone....the outside cooker was perfection once again. The local store that many of you have visited, had a one day fresh fish sale today....Punky the meat manager was standing inside the door with a layout of fresh goodness.....I love Punky, he has been a friend since i was a little kid. Lb of this and a Lb of that....I will say i love all seafood....I have much fresh goodness to come...scallops, shrimp, and tonight I fried some of the best ocean perch I have ever had....OMG!

When I consider what it costs to go out for less than great meals....I'm in Heaven here.

Thanks for the kind words sent my way...all of your sentiments were right on the money....you guys are the best.

It seems like the free ranging birds deal best with hot weather. They have the ability to find that cool spot when needed....like yesterday when I walked into the kitchen and there was one of my light brahmas hunkered down in front of the fan....I mean, come on...you just have to love them and give em a treat, it was cheese again.

I think I'm normal....it's everyone else that is twisted alittle right?

Yep, I remember the pre retire times of conversation with Doc well....seems like yesterday.....ahh the good times ,eh!

Something really strange is occurring outside!!

I let the dog out before heading to bed and there was something unknown falling out of the sky....IT'S RAINING!!!!!

I hope we get a good soaking

I'm leaving early in the morning for Knoxville and am leaving DH in charge of all the chores. I hope when I return all of the animals are alive and the plants too!

Jim: I was talking about my hens being slender-however the reason it gave me pause was because some of my chicks are extremely skinny....I think the hens are fine

I hope everyones cats returned home...My Gizmo went missing a month or so ago-and turned up safe and sound. I was reading an article that house cats that escape outside and seem to be lost are almost always very close to the house....they go silent when they realize they are outside/lost/scared

TGIF!!!!! Brought work home with me and jsut stopped for the evening...hoping to get more of it done this weekend but the weather is looking like its going to seduce me away from my work!!! Every night the chicks provide the BEST stress reduction and give us some great family time with the kids. (tired of this boot/walking cast though-dont think I will make 3 wks)

In a few I will add the last items to the car, eat breakfast, wake the kids, let the dog in, and shuttle everyone into the car to go! I am aiming for a 7:30ish departure.

I am very excited, but I hope and pray for safe travel.

I hope to be able to check in nightly while we are in Knoxville. I definitely do not want to fall behind in posts and have to read a bizillion just to catch up

Our hotel has free Wi-Fi so I'll have no excuse except pure exhaustion!

Morning all!
Up at 5:30 this am....again! Got the critters all cared for and I am sipping my coffee. Yummmmm!
DH is going to a dog event/hunting event today. He won't be gone all that long but I think I'll try to go to TSC in Delevan.
Looks gloomy outside but no rain....the bird bath has been getting a lot of action. I feel so sorry for the little birdies, having to wait at the "community pool"! LOL!! Maybe I'll invest in another bird bath. I'm having to fill their pool at least twice a day and the other day I had to fill it 3 times!!

The garden is starting to show promise! Peppers, tomatoes, squash and pumpkins are all growing. I have to take a peek at the cucumbers.

Well, best get myself going! Dump Day is today so I'd best get the truck unloaded and loaded!
