Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

So one of my a$$ho!e neighbors called the cops on my ducks and I have 5 days to get rid of them....

I have a feeling it is my neighbors with the seven kids who have more than the 'required' number of dogs on their property..... war has just begun......

So, now I need to remove 13 ducks from my property.

Anyone have thoughts on how to fight this?

I would appreciate any advice I could get..... I can't see how they will enforce one ordinance over another whenever it suits them.

Bl4- what city/town do you live in? And if you have a good feeling its the neighbor with too many dogs, you really should make a complaint to animal control.
Are you allowed to have any poultry where you live? You may end up having to put them in the basement for the time being.
I would get plastic decoy ducks and geese and put them around your back yard, and play duck calls or pond sounds and duck calls..
You can bring the ducks to some one else for a while and have the neighbors thinking its the decoys!!
It would be a hoot if they think its only the decoys, and not real ducks...
Just a thought

LOL! Thanks for the laugh, I just might do that with the decoys! Jerks.... I really have no idea who called, the cops would not tell me. I just have a gut feeling.

The copy in front of me states ducks, I swear the copy I got my mitts on did not say ducks but there is a copy on BYC posted in 2010 that reads the same as what is in front of me.

Yet I can have a miniature pig or rabbits....

ahem,,,,I took a shower every day this week

How about 300 pink plastic flamingos instead of the duck decoys,,,of course keep the idea of audio with quacking!

or,,,flying pigs,,, I hear there are lots of those in "the Valley"

White rabbits I can help you with if my contract falls through with the Magician's union (hey they gotta get um somewhere)

With all the folks getting into backyard poultry there have been letters circulating among various neighborhood NATZI groups/boards, could be where the problem came from,,,,,,,just sayin

They are usually in the back yard but of course they got some wild hair up their butts and got into the front yard.....

My biggest issue is that these small towns have ALL these ordinances on the books, but they are only enforced when a complaint is issued.... if nobody complains they they look the other way. We have a no burning until after 5 PM ordinance yet people will urn at 2 in the afternoon and nothing is done.... people are only allowed 4 dogs on their property, two cats per property, you must pick up your dog excrement... etc. etc. etc... you are not to cut your grass clippings into the street (I have NEVER heard of someone getting a fine for that), we have a no swearing in public ordinance too that is never enforced..... all so stupid.

Bl4, I am soooooo sorry to hear about your troubles.

That just stinks, worse than the old guys.
What is the name of your town, may I ask? Can you go before the board to get a variance? Do you have other neighbors who like your ducks? Maybe they can speak to the board on your behalf? I've seen small town board meetings before. If someone wants a variance & someone else puts up a stink, they'll vote it down. But if others in the vicinity have no objections & make the effort to show up, or at least put it in writing, then it is more likely to get passed. Majority usually rules, as long as the @$$hole doesn't know someone on the board.
In any case, good luck. I wish I could help you out more.
