Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I agree with what you are saying Jim, I would like to retain some kind of bargaining power too.

Ordinances are across the board with the fees; some only want a fee if you keep more than X# of birds, others would like as much as $40 a year for 4 hens! I can modify it to say no fees for X# of birds and then a fee past a certain number.

We have been saying we are moving out of this house since we bought it..... right now we are stuck here and if somebody else would like changes made to the ordinance they can do all this bloody work and get it changed themselves. No one has bothered to try as far as I know. If I lived my life like I was moving at any moment I would never do anything to improve my life right now, I would be sitting wishing for what I want...... and I can't do that.

Good evening! We are home from the Fair at last! I got a surprise when I went yesterday...not only did the MG banty get best banty, she won reserve champion for the show!!!
wee.gif

Now I hate to blow my own horn, but this is the second year my birds have won this trophy. Last year we got both reserve and grand though...I am still keeping my fingers crossed...I want to win these trophies with birds that I have bred personally! Some day....
Here we are:

As you can see Tommy wanted to be in the picture too! I will post another one when I have all the ribbons ans stuff on the rafter of the barn...it looks kinda cool up there.
So I am exhausted and need to take another week off of work so I can get this place in shape a bit! I think I will have to stay off of the puter and work lots to catch up!
We got a little rain on Saturday...maybe 3/4". Not really enough, but I'll take it! THe weeds are growing very well in the garden. I pulled the kohlrabi today. Making it with a summer squash and tomatoes tomorrow for supper. And grilled chicken--too bad about the "no grilling" thing! It is a gas one anyhow and I would rather make it hotter outside than in here for sure!

Off to bed for me! Stay cool...sweet dreams! Terri O

you seem to be really hung up on paying fees.. I do not see it that way.. the people on the board do not KNOW that fees are across the board.. don't point it out to them..

If you are limited to X# of birds, what is the sense of putting a clause in for more than X# of birds ?

I would not be in such a rush to make it to the very next meeting.. do more research.. get your argument solid.. wait for the next board meeting.. IMHO you are too emotional.. settle down..

loan the ducks to someone for the time being.. HeII, I'll babysit them for you..

Nice Pic of you and your winnings TO...Congrats !!

Here ya go BBP http://wausau.craigslist.org/grd/3141821569.html

And another for anyone else that may be looking. I talked to this guy and the Kentucky Mountain horse is only 5 yrs old. Was born with a fused vertibrae in the neck. She is fine to ride. He said she does have a problem reaching the grass and spreads her front legs apart a bit when grazing like a foal does.
I told him I thought I saw that horse on CL last year. He said yes they bought it but now they are getting divorced so horse has to go. Free.http://northernwi.craigslist.org/grd/3140644485.html

Hi ALL

Apyl...cute puddle kids! (Those are puddles right? Been so long since I saw one.) Congrats on your egg!

DrH... your storm sewer story remind me of when my youngest was about 8 and we had a booth at a flea market. We brought him, a friend and a "sitter" to watch the kids while we worked. They decided to explore a near by muddy creek
sickbyc.gif
They came back so muddy, and stinky I took them to the car wash and hosed them all down before I took them home for a shower!

BBP... hope you can keep a discrete eye on those horses!

krisp... sorry about your little silky.

FT... congrats on the hatch! Hope all goes well with OM DH! Sorry about your losses. That 2nd horse must be gone already... says it was deleted by the author.

Angi.... I think that's how my girls feel too!

BL4.... Sounds good to me... but what do I know
idunno.gif
We bought this place because it came with A-1 property and we wouldn't have to deal with that stuff.

tiki... I think the old cells were the size of a liter bottle of soda and weighed twice as much! You had to carry them around in a bag and cost about $7.00 a min to use! They were for rich people! lol My ex and I bought a Vic20 as our first "computer".

TO... wow those are big trophies! Congrats again!

I don't want to go to town today! Can't go early because young son needs the car for work.... I'll just make the bank and mill when he he gets home.
Another kitty found a home so only 1 left. I think he's bored and lonely.

he's been hanging around me all night!
The chickens so far are fine, got Ice made for the next few days.

Well, better pack eggs and get to bed... night!

Well, I guess I can't water outside, do a load of wash and do dishes at the same time! Water lost all pressure!
barnie.gif
I never had a tank do that to me!
hide.gif
At least I know it's not a dry well! I know what that's like.... and this ain't it.
roll.png
DH is going to track down a tank to re-charge it later today. Guess he learned how because he's had to do it at work a few times. It's rather nice when he knows how to do something I don't!
love.gif
On the other hand, sometimes he expects me to know things I don't

... Oh well

did you have to use the engine degreaser? That's hilarious about the cat! Always like the look afterwards. It's always why did YOU push me? Bf4me don't worry it gets better. Jim the only thing bad about wearin LJ's this time of year is there's no place for your wallet when you go to town. BL4 you go girl! Bigz gotta love that bread! Your right so easy and good! I put the recipe in the drawer and forget about it, that's so wrong! TO think you need to be crowned the fair queen! Complete with tiara. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Need to start stocking up on ice for pickle makin and blanching. Sounds like a good job for today sit inside and make ice.

good AM, well, not THAT good.. I got up early and took a barrel of water to the potatoes.. first off, couldn't find the long hose I just bought.. have to ask nephew about that.. I used the short hose.. then when I went to move the tractor ahead, the bucket hydraulics quit . just like that.. NADA , Nothing.. WTH ? so I quickly drove back to the garage just in case I have to tear something apart ..

just had a cuppa and a glazed donut.. makes me feel a little better, but really didn't solve the problem.. I know how to solve the problem------new tractor !!

another turkey is about to hatch..

Annie helped the one yesterday.. It did not look so chipper when I put it into the TV.. at least it is still alive this morning..

we transferred the 5 quail into their own pen.. one lays an egg every now and again.. and one crows.. IDK about the other 3 yet.. I gave them a big glob of lawn clippings.. they really like digging through that.. the quails like to tunnel through it..

DrH, I hide my wallet in that flap on the back..
