Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

All of you who have some soap from yesterday (some of you know this already but it need repeating); you need to store it in a dry place for the next 4 weeks before you use it. Keep it loosely wrapped in the paper bag and flip it once in a while. Yes it is a little caustic yet (probably neutralized Heather's mouth...) but not horribly so. Those of you who forget where you have put it (you know who you are....) write it on the calendar!

Revenge is a dish best served cold........ trust me, I will not go gently into that good night. Too much Irish in me for that!

So I suppose I should post a pic or two...

Fabulous morning to you all! It is nippy out there today! BigZ--sorry about that hen...like Ghost said a dog to run around? A fence along the back to slow the preds down? A gun in your belt all the time? IT is tough when they come as you are right there! Gives me the creeps! Speaking of....DH said that he saw a "very large cat" going across the road near my place. He thinks cougar? I sure hope not...I only like little cats! So what are you staining that coop with? GOLD LEAF stain? Sounds pretty pricey for the stuff for sure. Bet it looks nice though!
Judge IS THAT YOUR HOUSE????

I LOVE it! (especially all the fall decos along the fence! I had a white picket fence at our house in Oconomowoc...really miss that fence! Glad you got the roo--is is a beauty. When I was holding him he settled right down. Good advice from Cind though to handle the hens in front of him so he is OK with it.

Bummer on the fishin' Doc! Another summer has passed and I havent gone....my son says he is going to ice fish with his buddies this winter--all I can say is that he better bring some home!

I brought Tommy in for the winter and installed him under the fish tank in place of the Chick TV. He seems happy to be inside. I have to figure out a better bedding material for him. He is just on newspaper right now and his house is a small wire dog kennel so shavings and the like would be everywhere. I might go with a towel again--that seemed to work OK last year.

Well, I guess I ought to be going out to feed the feathered ones...DH gave me a link to the pics he took. I will share that when I get it. Then off to work for me...but it is payday--a GOOD thing for sure! Have a fantastic day everyone...and thanks once again for hosting the bash BigFam...we had a blast! I think DH wants more kids now--he had fun playing baseball with yours! (thank God I am too old!)

Happy Autumn day to all of you! Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. Haven't been on here for awhile, but i hope you are all well. Glad to hear your bash went well, hopefully I can make it in the spring. All is well here, and we are so excited about the new roo from Cindlady. He is so pretty- can't wait for the hubby to see him. He wanted a fancy one, lol. Gotta go check on everyone, and make sure our naughty goats didn't get out again. Nothing like chasing fainting goats around the driveway as the bus is pulling in. At least it got my heart going right away in the morning. Our new mini horse was gelded on Thursday, and seems to be doing well. Hopefully he calms down a little now.

WOW what a beauitful house and yard......bet that keeps you pretty busy........... I always wanted a white picket fence, maybe next year I'll build one around my garden to keep chicknes out then plant some chicken friendly flowers around it......LOL will see...... Thanks for sharing the view.......Kim.

Morning everyone!

Yes Terri that's our house. Thanks! Melissa told me about how you got that roo to settle down

And her acting it out made me laugh so hard. I tried to catch him, but that little squirt is fast! I'll have to let the DS9 and DS8 try.

Thanks! It was built by my DH's Great grandparents. Our kids are the 5th generation to live here. As soon as I saw back when we were dating I fell in love and knew when we got married I wanted to make it our home

x10! Like everyone here, I absolutely love your house! Picket fences are charming to look at, but I guess I had to paint and trim around too many of them as a kid. Yours is beautiful, though.

Terri caught that roo like a pro, and in seconds flat. It was really impressive, actually, in a comical sort of way.

Hi!
Yep.... Terri the roo whisperer!

Judge...Yes, keep him separate for 3 to 4 weeks, 4 is best. He is healthy as I'm sure yours are but you can never tell what's lurking in either coop. This will also give you time to handle the hens around him and to handle him and make friends with him.

WOW, your place is Great! looks like he's movin' on up! LOL
