Friday Fish Fry To Everyone....tonight it's Swai baked in the oven with the usual dressings, fresh potato salad and a twist on the cole slaw tonight made with grated fresh carrots and kohlrabi...actually good and different.

Doc, I went in looking to buy a ms211...figured it would be just what i was lookin for. After a long talk with the saw guy, he figures I could use the saw I bought most of the time without changing saws. Makes some good sense, however I do like the one handed ability for the small stuff and think the 211 is a good choice for me if I decide to upgrade my small choppy. Nice thing is they take trade ins so out of poc should be minimal....good luck! Just give donny a pinch by the rear pocket then! Hope he learns that good folks help is as good as doin yourself.

Yep the pullets should lay all winter their first year without any artificial help. Mine always do anyway. Nice giving the older women some rest and time to rejuvenate their systems, especially if you plan on keeping them.

Evening all,

Just put the ladies to bed. I am beginning to realize how much I will miss them, Since i raised them from chicks and they were my first chickens. I am planning to bring them to Jims tomorrow and Ghostrider ( Kim ) will pick them up later. If it is rainy all day, I think I will hold off until it dries off. I don't want to the ladies to get sick. I got a cackle hatchery catalog in the mail today, but won't look through it for a while .

Nothing thrilling going on here. The turkeys learned that they do have inside space and that's where the food and water is. Still have to give them more roost space and give them some sort of door. They still prefer outside, but I thought they would.

Good morning! I popped on to whine for a second. I'm running in a half marathon this morning. I am so sad and nervous about having to do 13.1 miles in rain and occasional thunder. I am thinking about switching down to the 10k, but don't want to be a wimp. Grrrrrr! Requesting good thoughts and prayers for this morning.

I suppose I have to add some chicken talk... Sorry you'll be missing your girls Ont. Kim's a good egg, they'll love it there!

oh no, I start posting and everyone disappears. Getting ready to go walk the dogs in the rain. My insurance man just found out I have chows, so wants to meet them to see if We are insurable. Makes me so mad, Had the insurance company since I was 16, 50 now. 1 claim. Luckily I found an insurance company that doesn't discriminate against chows. The insurance co will lose 4 cars, the house, boat premiums. Idiots.. LOL

So, your insurance company thinks that by "meeting" your dogs they will be qualified enough to determine if they are a future danger to anyone? That is ridiculous. I hope you're just switching companies and not even giving them the opportunity to keep you as a customer.

rainy morning here

started in around 4:30 am ish- that is the time I started hearing our Aussie working her crate over......

getting ready for 2 soccer games today- not sure if DS(7) will play this am and DS(10) plays unless there is lightening or the field conditions are such that it makes playing dangerous..... and of course DH had to go to make a repair this am and is hoping to get back in time to see the games if played.

Well our garage has a lot more space now and smells better too- all broliers are now resting comfortably in our freezer.

My green tomatoes are still slowly turning red- will need to prep another group- hopefully today

Suppose I should go out and do chores quick before we have to leave for soccer!

another cold, wet, windy day just can't hit a string of good weather this fall,,,,plan to spread compost today raincoat and bids are the dress code

can't imagine any dog not biting an insurance man,,,,I had German Shepherd gds for a period of time,,,any salesman was bait

Went over to Donny's yesterday to get "my" instructions. He has a show quality Lakenvelder roo. No white feathers on the neck. Quite the handsome boy! Donny went in the house for a few minutes and I got to talk to his son alone. We made plans that Donny is not going to like. TFB! He also told me that another friend of Donny's came over and replaced the wax ring on their toidy and broke the flange so it still leaks. While Donny's in the hospital we're gonna fix that. He said it's PVC and I just happen to have everything except the flange in my "good stuff" stash. Was just thinking where the H is Tiki? She hasn't been on in awhile. Dan sounds like your running a swingers club there.

Cind it was really easy to lock myself in. Real easy. Just walked inside and the wind blew the door shut as soon as I heard it I dropped my head and laughed at myself knowing full well I couldn't get out unless I crawled through the window then remembered I had my cell in my pocket. It was right after I added a new door latch. Right after that I drilled a hole in the wall and added a wire and ring on the inside to release the catch. Begining to think you got that pic of the kittens off the internet and you just want to get me there to split wood.

Bigz the wheels are turning, made the mistake of stopping at the Stihl dealer. Liked the 170..... A lot. The only thing I didn't like is it has a 16" bar, a long bar can get in the way when cutting small stuff. I tend to drag a bunch of small trees out then cut them up. Nearly pulled out the card and took it home with me... still might do that.

Could put the Husq on Craigs list would be a great saw for a homeowner or a pro tree trimmer. Not so good for a fire wood maker. Could really see that 170 with a 12" bar. BAD THOUGHTS, BAD THOUGHTS! The egg laying has now averaged out to 5-6 a day. I like that! Just the right amount for us and some for others. Finally caught the garbage man yesterday, man he's fast! He loves em! Too. Hoping for a break in the rain today have 2 lbs of burgers and big pack of brats that I want to get on the barby. Time for B'fast and let the kids out.
