BL4~yep. We rented a place where the river was in our back yard just across from the courthouse. The footbridge was at the end of our street (no idea if it's still there). Used to love to walk across the bridge up to the courthouse green for the farmer's market on warm mornings. My S&D went to the Baptist school. I'll have to ask which plant he's in, I have no idea. We haven't been down that way since the wedding last year and not for many years before that but I always had fond memories of Waupaca.

Of course by the time I fetched the camera they had shifted! The one with the colar had one of his white paws around the grey one's neck. It was so cute. THe gray (Squirrel) is hanging precariously on the edge of the pile; all 3 of them are squeezed into an empty cat box with a towel in it. Be nice if they would sleep on the gigantic cat tree in the LR.

Well I guess I have laid around too long now...it is pouring harder and I NEED to get outside! I hope all of you will promote Tommy's video and make him famous!

Good morning everyone.  Still pouring out like crazy.  Wish we would have gotten this in June and July.  

Jim,  How are the ladies doing?  It was so wierd last night not closing up the coop or letting them out this morning.

Has anyone ordered from McMurray or Cackle Hatchery?  What are your thoughts. I am not looking for show quality, just healthy birds

I am thinking about ordering 10 black tailed Japanese bantams straight run. Hoping I get 5 females.  Do you think it would be difficult to rehome for free the males and extra pullets? The males are beautiful but I can't keep them

Also what is the earliest you received chicks in the mail.  I want to order as early as I can but don't want a box of frozen chicks.

Morning David, I have chickens from Cackle, my first batch of chicks most were healthy, I had 1 gimpy rooster who had some thing, had a bad back/neck/ brain damage something as a chick he started not to be able to walk right, and never grew much either, he also started having seizures when he got to be about 2 months old, he lived to be 19 months and a few days.............. he was a very nice little guy just useless as a rooster, and so pretty, he was a GLW........ there wyandottes are not very typey, and have horrible lacing......... but my girls were healthy.......there BO are ok, and I would say for a laying chicken/pet I would order, Wh.rocks, them were the biggest roos, and good layers the 2 hens I had that I didn't order........... as stated b4 my first order was pretty messed up......... whether it was PP or Cackle that messed it up I do not know..........I also have good BSL's from McMurry.......
My only warning is don't order straight run chicks........... I ended up with 43 chickens over my messed up order and 34 of them were roosters............ if ya want hens pay the extra, no one wants roosters........so if ya have a lot ya will end up butchering, and bantams sure won't go far in the freezer........ I wish I knew someone with the little chickens, but sorry everyone I know has LF cuz they want meat and eggs....... Kim

PS I got my order March none were popcycles, but I did have 4 DOA of my small SS.......

Awww Kim--sorry about your wet hay! My barn leaks too and as much as I try not to store anything where the leak is...there always seems to be something "valuable" that gets wet! I have had the roof guy go up there numerable times and he just cant find where the leak is! So frustrating for sure...with all this rain I am waiting for the bathroom ceiling to start leaking...always a fun time for sure! Never could find that leak either!

Sorry you are so angry...glad Tommy could give you a chuckle though!

Everyone must be taking naps this afternoon. I thought after getting all my winter clothing out and putting the summer stuff away that there would be a TON of messages from bored folks caught inside to day....nope--only 2 messages!
Well since I am on kind of a roll I suppose I could empty cat boxes...I hate when it's damp...you cant have anything in them...STINKY!

thanks Ghost rider, I wish I could find a place that you can order just female bantys not the straight run. If anyone knows of a place let me know. My pet chicken has them but not the japanese black tail ones.

Dave, make it easy on yourself.. Order the chicks.. then I will take all the roosters at a very young age and butcher them as cornish game hens..

we have a turkey in the vacant cockatiel cage in the living room.. It was out in the rain and soaked to the skin.. It is all dry now and chirping for it's friends.. almost bed-time ya know ,,, If it persists far into the night, I will toss it outside ... rain or no rain,, one of us is going to get some sleep..

Annie made a batch of spicey chili.. It smells good, ,,,,,,,, I will make some corn muffins go go with it....

I ordered from McMurrays years ago...no problems at all...I didn't have them shipped til the end of April...sometimes the weather can cause problems with flights etc...due to spring snowstorms if you order early...just sayin.

Vicki...send me a pm with what you are asking for them..please.
