Morning all...DH was up pretty much all night. He said every time he tried to close his eyes he saw Valley (the JRT) He spent more time with her than I did I guess.....and she did kill a whole bunch of my birds....
DrH I sure hope you get your back looked at! It shouldnt hurt that long...I hope it's nothing though! You are taking your roo to a vet for bumble surgery? It isnt hard to do yourself. Save some $$$.

BBP--I looked at the site CC so kindly provided and it looks like she is doing OK. They had the news clip on there. Maybe things are changed? It looks like she is doing good work. The clip said she was retiring from the position--was that "code?"

OK I have have to go off to work. It was in the 20s here today but the hose wasnt frozen...weird. Maybe it ddrained enough--that wind is RAW though! DrH--I think it is so sweet of you to warm up Ls car!

She is s lucky woman for sure!

Good Morning all
Wow what a difference this morning. I really enjoyed this weekend. I finally got the chicks out on green grass. I hope it is not the last of the warm weather. I love those blasts of warm weather in the fall.

Dr.H, your best cure for your back is 6 weeks of REST. Even if you have a herniated disk and they do surgery, your rest time is still 6 weeks.... go check out a chiro, get an adjustment and REST.

Trying to fix the desktop computer...... this is an all day event. I am copying files from the C:drive to a 1.75 terabyte mass storage device then reformatting the computer. I am tired of not having access to my printer (yes you can get a wireless printer, but I like mine), and my 10 year old needs to plunk away at the computer at some point.... plus the older kids need someplace to write papers.....

There are many little white flakes falling from the sky here......

I can see if it costs him that much to make but I highly doubt it. If so then I hope he sells it if not I hope it comes back to haunt him. And they were worried about horses being set loose before. Dumped and put in empty trailers at horse gatherings !!!
That's all I'm going to say about that.
I talked to my previous hay supplier that had sold out. He was selling me hay for $1.75. I asked him what price he sold out on.... $2.00 a bale.

Oh now I remember what I was going to post last night. CC check Moosette for Northern fowl mights or lice. Mites will make them weak. And believe it or not mites thrive in the cold weather.
Sitting here with wet hair. Hope I can get it to dry before I leave at 12:45 to go to town. Have no idea where the blow dryer is. Think it might be in the basement somewhere when I did the silkies !!!

Gave ET a simple request....wake me up at 10am...... was close to 11am and no wake up call/poke. So I would think a warm car to hop (

get it ..hop) in to would be asking a bit much. Yes Doc.... L is one lucky lady for sure !!!

Happy Veteran's Day weekend All!

I've never been too much for technology or technology chatting, in a way. I only point this out to say, I hope i don't do something faux pas or rude; unintentionally in light of etiquette, like maybe this whole 'first impression' for starters...lol? hehe. Not sure about addressing people either so far as personally or whatever (not sure of screen name at the moment although I'm sure I would if I weren't a newbie), but wassau wi fellow who can build a chicken plucker like nobody's business invited me to stop by. Jvn62 I will venture to guess. I'm from Virginia (VA) and now live in Eau Claire WI. Brought a wife and two kids with and now have a Wisconsonite also- 9 months old : ) I grabbed some free chickens twice within last two months. Me or some of the roosters have to go, TODAY. I truly don't know, however, would like to ask A question before finding out if there is a rule about socialize here, ask there or not due to urgency. I want to let rigor mortis pass in the fresh chickens, do you think I could stick them in a cooler or LUKEWARM water to counter the effects of the cold for a few hours? or is that bad? Oh, my newest batch is breeds are guess somewhat- a Wellington rooster, a white w/orange streaks rooster, a beautiful, big, stately white with streamlined neck and black tail rooster, a game bantam cross rooster- the boss and beautiful also, a leghorn hen? and 4 americauna, buff orpington crosses with something else in some and maybe that other kind. LOL Will you guys help me out with the warm water thing, I'm going choppin'? Nice to meet you all. BTW, I just posted another big rambling mess over there under meat chickens regarding the same stuff. Man, it's getting cold here, I will also have some half papered, expensive purebred ragdoll and half 'raccoon or whatever was outside the nignt she got out' kittens available soon. Never bought a cat in my life, daughter wanted one and I accidentally googled a certain kitten picture that looked straight out Disney cartoons and here we are......

flurries here today.. yesterday, in the pouring down rain, I rolled up all the hoses.. at least they won't be frozen into the mud next spring..

going to deliver some eggs and then go check up on the progress on Ollie..

and that's about it for my big plans for the day..

DrH, you are so thoughtful for warming up L's car.. she might get the idea that you are anxious to have her leave .??

I was having sore back trouble about a week or so ago.. I noticed it was worse when I sat in this recliner rocker.. the seat is too long for my short legs.. I padded the back rest with a folded up blanket and my pain subsided tremendously ..

I opened up the pen for David's 3 chickens.. the red one , who was always too willing to jump out didn't waste any time doing that.. the resident chickens on the ground didn't even look at her..

One of the puppies that Brian took got ran over by a 4 wheeler atv.. might have a broken pelvis or upper leg.. or maybe just badly bruised.. his vet doesn't have an X-ray.. going to take her to the dog clinic..

My puppy has decided to growl at Dora over food.. wrong,, she has put him into his place about 3 times.... I think he is getting the message.. You would think she was ripping him apart when she grabs him and pins him down.. but so far no blood nor crushed bones.. now I wish she would work on his potty training..

Good Morning JVLS1942, I am so sorry my manners can be so lacking at times. I new if I wasn't a total newbie, I would have enough sense to know your screen name. I did remember Jim and sacrificed ettiquette to avoid possible privacy faux pas. Thanks for inviting me, I'll try to be less boorish in the future. The older I get the more I seem to speak first and think later, if I get around to it. If I don't get over trying to overthink the perfect way to maximize butchering efficiency, I'm just going to go out here and shoot'em, poke a stick through'em and roast'em on the campfire til the feathers are gone.
