Baking some banana bread today in my spare time.....

Anybody near me have a rubber water trough that I could borrow or know of someone who would let me borrow one? I don't need to buy one just for keeping the ducks in for a week or two......

FM thank you for the soaps, now that my bathroom is people ready they are prominently displayed for everyone to see and use!

Well, I better eat breakfast. Back to cheeseland today......

he was not to happy. then there were these stupid bitting bugs out (not skeeters) that were eating us alive. it was like "freeze" for the pic and as soon as the camera snapped everyone was jumping around and slapping themselves. it was too funny. what was even cooler was they liked my DH better than me. usually i'm the one getting eaten. maybe they don't like garlic......

anyways hope everyone has a good day. tomorrow, I get the honors of going to our camper (2 hours away) with 5 kids to get blankets for washing and clean the place up before we go down for 3 days. 4 hours of me driving with 5 kids. I may be driving, but I'm gonna get driven...... all the way to the looney bin.

fun fun!

BL4 mmmmmm banana bread...... and ducks! don't even get me started...... I thought I had ducks, turned out they were really pigs in disquise. These things are REALLY messy. how do people keep them with chickens? I'm just thinking about how they would work in the chicken coop. these things are gonna get their own coop. complete with removable rubber? floor.

Later.......

Again another great afternoon to all... I talked to Jim today and he has 85 keets in his new pens that he built with a ingenious sliding door....I love you guys here, and hope I can continue....I know you all will for sure...... Keep em layin, or putten meat on the bones. ~ bigzio

Well Gee Bigz...you aren't thinkin' of leavin' us are ya? We dont want to lose ANY friends! All we want to do is make MORE!!! What's up? I want to know if you just stuffed the grass into the bags and then save it? WHat is your method?

I spend a very hot day installing the horse at the barn at the fair, fixing up the Cultural Arts display area and straightening out judging mistakes and I am POOPED! No wonder, it's way past my bedtime. I did have a very nice conversation with a fellow chicken keeper from Ixonia during lunch and invited his Mom to join us here. She has been on BYC but did not know about this board it seems? Maybe we all need to adjust our signature lines again? Anyway, this keeper is all of 10 or so and very knowledgeable about his Polish Crested Bantams! I for sure am going to go and checkout his birds in the chicken barn.

Great link BBC! I also laughed out loud. I love those things...my DH always seems to find them and send them to me on my birthday. (I think I need more button quail!)

Welcome to accioasarah--you will like it here!

Raiquee--ya shoulda stopped after the race! I am only 5 miles from the track and on you way home too!!! We watched the fireworks from our place...they were going on at the same time as Lake MIlls and we say them too. OF course we were doing the mosquito dance the WHOLE time!

Gotta go to bed! Good night, sleep tight! Terri O

My sister is leaving France this morning, right now she has been sitting in her plane taxiing on the runway for over an hour and a half...... yuck.

Maybe she will get home by midnight tonight.

Good Morning to Everyone! Yup you beat me BL4. Doesn't sound like fun sitting on a plane for an extra hour and a half and then the long flight across the pond. Been there done that. Picked over 2 quarts of berries yesterday after greasing up good with spray. You never cover every spot and it wears off from picking. In my nose, ears, and my favorite behind the glasses. Will get them cleaned and frozen today. Need to get all the cardboard and tools put away from the fans and media cabinet assembly, everything went without a hitch. I like that! Need to mow again too. Plenty to do before we leave on Fri morning for a fam reunion in northern IN. Will come home on Sun. Don't like it down there everything just seems dirty. Good neighbor Donny will let the chickens out and put them to bed for us. They got a loaf of cin/raisin bread for their efforts. Not that they wouldn't get one anyway. He said his hens weren't laying very well either made me feel a little better about ours. Might wait till we get back to make bread but that means making bread for 2 days. Better go let the kids out.

Apparently she is somewhere over the ocean..... with three more hours to go on the plane......

Everyone who is looking for farm property and who would like to become farmers check out this link.

http://www.fsa.usda.gov/FSA/stateoffapp?mystate=wi&area=home&subject=landing&topic=landing

The Gov is helping out those who would like to get out of farming by supplying farmers with individuals who want to become farmers. There is an informational seminar next Thursday that you can sign up for.

Ok off to make trouble elsewhere.......

Terri_O) I was thinking in the back of my mind "God, I have to be SO close to some of those BYC people, we are practically in Madison!!!" haha. We plan on maybe going back out there for labor day, maybe I can swing by and say Hi!

I'll letcha know more when the time comes!

Well todays plans are cleaning my house!!! lol. Making egg muffins to freeze for those hectic mornings, and maybe a general white slicing loaf for the bread box. We'll see.

I had a dream where me and DH found our dream house, had an fruit orchard, nut orchard and a moveable tropical orchard which we moved into a greenhouse in winter. We had a berry grove, and a huge acre garden. We had so much good luck with our produce, that we set up a CSA. Then we had our chickens, ducks, goats, and sheep. Then in the corner of our lot we had our poultry butcher room, which was enclosed and full tile so you could just spray it out when done. We also had a pond that was spring fed, that we stocked with trout.

It was P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Hubby looked at me like something slipped in my coffee, but also agreed it was an amazing dream.

Well, I better get back to cleaning. My treat if I finish my house chores is getting to read "Backyard Barnyard" which is what I need right now. Shows you how to use the space ya got!

Raiquee you've got it bad! If you can dream of all that much good stuff can't imagine what you can think up while awake. I hate to burst your bubble but to walk into a place like that would be like hitting it big in the lottery. But then you could buy a place like that. I wish you luck! Bet you were grinnin when you popped your peepers open. Knocked several things off the today's list including mowing. Clogged the shoot a couple of times. Wet and heavy but it had to be done. Thought of building a baler the size of an old single row potato planter and a little hay rake. It would make bales about half the size of a small square bale. Think it would be cool but then I think I think too much. Gotta get the berries sealed up and put away for future pies.
